Review for Normal Moments Inc, Naperville, IL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

We LOVE normal moments! The services they provide help us get through the day to day. They provide a quality of life that no other charity does. They also make holiday special as well to ensure our kids have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. We could never thank Tricia enough!

Normal Moments has helped our family so much! They do so much but one thing that really helps is the home cleaning service. The last 8 weeks have been just crazy! We have 3 kids and it was the end of the school year, Charlie our medically complicated kiddo had his 7th surgery 4 weeks ago, so we had preop appointments, the surgery, then an infection, recovery, then several post op appointments. On top of that our oldest had finals and our middle daughter had field trips, a end of the year party and baseball. I also work outside the home so we were just drowning trying to get through each week! It was a struggle to get the house clean enough for our lady to come! =) Then after a great nights rest last night in clean sheets, I woke up to a clean house today and it was a huge sigh of relief. So thank you both for working together to provide this service to us, we are grateful every.single.time!

Normal moments has helped our family so much! I can't thank Tricia and all the volunteers enough. I'm not aware of any other charity in our area that does the type of work Normal Moments does. Our family relies on the help we receive to just have "moments of normalcy". Our son Charlie was born 8 weeks early with several congenital conditions. He's needed 6 surgeries so far, the first was at 6 weeks old and he only weighed 4 lbs at the time. His second was major heart surgery at 4 months old and only 9 lbs. He was gtube fed and needed life saving medicine daily. He is doing much better now, eating table food, he learned to walk and is starting to talk. These were all things that doctors were uncertain he would be able to do. He still has a long road ahead and is followed by 11 specialists and goes to 5 therapy sessions a week but he his happy and doing great. He knows shapes and his abc's, he LOVES dinosaurs and gives the best hugs! Tricia and the volunteers have helped us through in so many ways. We are lucky enough to have someone come out and clean our home 1x a month, this has been such a huge help b/c as a mother of a child with complex medical conditions you often feel like there is not enough hours in the day and tackling a messy house can't always be a top priority. On the flip side, to have our house clean makes it easier to tackle other tasks with a clear mind. Sleeping in clean sheet helps to provide the rest we all need. We bought a "fixer upper" home when I was 3 month pregnant with Charlie. With the unforeseen medical complications our home went by the wayside and Tricia was able to get a group of volunteers to come to our house and help us weed and spread mulch. Our home was a bit of an embarrassment prior but looks much better now because of their help. It literally would have taken my husband and I all summer to do the amount of work that was accomplished in one day. It was the jump start we needed to continue making improvements. These are the types of things that get overlooked often times by friends and other family members but are so desperately needed by families dealing with these issues day in and day out. Our stress level has been dramatically reduced and allows us to enjoy family time. We are eternally grateful for the services Normal Moments continues to provide for our family!
