Review for Rawhide Youth Services, New London, WI, USA
In 2014, the East Roane County Volunteer Fire Department, located in Kingston, Tennessee, was in desperate need of a fire engine to replace a broke down unit we had. We are a rural volunteer department with extremely limited funding, that covers 92 square miles. There were also unique requirements and challenges that needed to be met, like the ability to fit in a small station, navigate narrow country roads, carry a significant amount of water and easy to operate by any member. One evening, while looking on eBay, we found this 1979 Ford fire truck up for auction through Rawhide Boys Ranch. We won the bid at $1,320. One of our members flew up to Wisconsin to pick up the truck and drive it back to Tennessee. Our assistant chief went to the Rawhide Boys Ranch and was pretty impressed with the facility, the people and the programs they had up there. What really sealed the deal was Rawhide's "opt out" clause. If the buyer wasn't happy with the purchase, they could simply walk away from the deal and Rawhide would resell the vehicle. It was impressive to find out that 100% of the sale proceeds went to Rawhide Boys Ranch. The staff at Vehicle Sales were over the top! The truck wouldn't start, and when they found out it was being taken back to Tennessee to be put back into service, they went all out to help us get the truck running. By the end of the day, we pulled out of Rawhide Boys Ranch with our new fire truck. Two days later, we were back home in Tennessee, backing the truck into its new home at our Station #2 in the Cave Creek community. This truck is a tremendous piece of equipment we sorely needed. It has done a great job of serving the community and protecting lives. It's great to know that Rawhide was able to help us find a good fire truck. In turn, our purchase helped them! We want to thank the Rawhide Boys Ranch for helping us to continue to protect our community and citizens. THANKS!!!
You are very welcome. Thank you for sharing your wonderful story! We are very grateful the fire truck is serving you so well and proud to be a small part of the Cave Creek community in Tennessee! Thank you for all you do in serving your people there!
