This summer I am puppy sitting for two weeks at a time for little puppies from 10 to 14 weeks old. When I picked up my last puppy, Ace, they had changed the puppy I was sitting to make sure I did not have to take an extra trip to the Vet for routine shots during the time I had him. It is being concerned with little things like that for their volunteers that makes them a great place to work with. The attached photo is Ace and my career changed guide dog Magic.

I am a puppy raiser for Southeastern Guide dogs (SEGD). I am on my 6th puppy. Unfortunately, my little guy tore his ACL and will not be able to used as a service dog. This unfortunate event showed me how dedicated SEGD is to their dogs welfare, as well as to providing excellent guides to their graduates. They are performing the surgery to correct the ACL so that the puppy can be put up for adoption with a good chance at a normal life. When you raise these puppies you fall in love with them. It is comforting to know that they have every chance to live a good life whether as a service dog or as someone's pet if they can not make it as a service dog.
