Review for Angelus Academy, Springfield, VA, USA
Angelus Academy was formed by a group of devoted women who sought to provide an authentically Catholic education for their children in the Northern VA area. After 12 years the school has moved into its own building, has an enrollment of 120 students in grades K - 8, and offers aftercare for their working parents. Teachers and staff are intimately concerned with the development of each child; academically, spiritually, and socially. Parents are dedicated to providing an exciting and robust environment in which their children can thrive, sharing their professional, artistic, and educational talents. The accepting atmosphere at the school provides a safe-haven in our critical world. Graduates are accepted at top high schools in the area, and have been referred to as "academic superstars". As a parent volunteer of four children attending Angelus Academy, I am proud to recommend Angelus Academy as a "Great Non-profit."

Review for Divine Mercy Care, Fairfax, VA, USA
Divine Mercy Care Foundation is more than a group of medical providers; they are a group of individuals committed to treating women with dignity and compassion while providing superior medical care. The services offered; without regard to patient religion, race, or financial situation respect the whole patient and the family unit. Families faced with challenging pregnancies are given the support, care and love needed to understand their unique situation and proceed to term without undue anxiety. Few pediatric hospice centers exist; DMC pioneered this hallmark service.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization through their openness to professionals in need of a practice setting in line with their morals and beliefs.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would love to see this organizational model replicated in other parts of the country. I know so very many women thrououghout the USA who want this caliber of service that just don't have access to such comprehensive care.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Their openness to life.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Compassionate, caring, knowledgeable, forward thinking, exceptional.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Provide exceptional obstetric care for more patients. Advertise nationally so providers looking for this practice setting would know they exist.
Ways to make it better...
they could have afforded medical space closer to DC. The decision for their current practice site allows for less overhead and more money for care - the right decision given their limited funds.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Lack of funds to care for more indigent patients.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The need for this type of practice setting - for the patient and the provider is DESPERATELY needed nationally. This model MUST be duplicated to make available this level of care to those outside of the northern VA metro region.
