There are not enough words to describe how much Veteran Airlift Command has positively impacted my life. I lost both eyes and sustained other permanent injuries while serving in Iraq with the USMC. Traveling is on of the biggest triggers I have, airports are not blind friendly. One of the most difficult parts is knowing my wife has to carry so much of the weight when it comes to us flying anywhere. We have used VAC twice now and it has been one of the best opportunities for me. i was never stressed, triggered or on edge. They went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were fully taken care of. I'd give them ten stars if it was possible. Thank you VAC for all you do for wounded veterans like myself and our families.

It's been 13 years since I lost my eyes in the war and suffered other severe permanent injuries. I have gone through countless rehabilitation and therapy programs, never once was I told about Equine therapy until I met the people at Inspire. I had never been around a horse or on one before so I was very nervous. Once I met Bear I realized he was a gentle giant. I could not believe how big he was, for the first 30 mins I brushed him and got to know him. It was a very calming experience, something so majestic and so large just stood there and allowed me to bond with him. When I finally got on Bear I was very nervous, I was unsure of how I would do since I am unable to see. I learned very fast that a Bear would take care of me and have my back just as my fellow Marines would. Inspire Equine Therapy Program is life changing.
