I've been proudly volunteering for The Orangutan Project for over three years now. I've also visited orangutan rescue centres in Borneo and Sumatra, on two occasions with TOP's founder Leif Cocks, and seen first hand where the donations go. I would not expend my precious time and energy on a charity that was wasting money on administration or gimmicky promotions, but I know that the money we work so hard to raise in Canberra goes straight to where it's most needed. TOP's admin costs are between nine and eleven per cent, thanks to the charity's dedicated volunteers. In Indonesia the people on the front line speak of Leif and TOP with great respect and gratitude.
