I have been fundraising for The Orangutan Project for 4 years now and will continue to do this. I know that the money is going towards so many brilliant projects that are keeping these beautiful creatures from disappearing. Funds are desperately needed to pay for the rehabilitation of orangutans, educating local people to care for them and help get them back into the wild. We are kept informed with the progress of the orangutans as they work towards their way back into the jungle.

I've been working with TOP since 2012 and absolutely love the foundation and everything they are doing for Orangutans. Bonus: the volunteers are amazing people.

I saw the guy who set this organisation up speak and was blown away by his compassion and understanding of what is needed to help our endangered cousins. Hence I became a volunteer and see all the money we raise locally going directly to helping orphaned orangutans or to buying land to protect them. Massive thumbs up for an inspiring and dedicated charity and team who run it!

I have donated to The Orangutan Project over the years, and have always found the organisation to be professional and transparent.
Most recently I donated money to purchase one of two motorbikes for the rangers in Borneo as their truck had broken down, and it was wonderful that I actually received a photo of the rangers to show that the bike had been purchased! This motivates me more to help. In fact I am going to Borneo later this year.
I also volunteer with TOP and I am proud to do so.

The work for rainforests achieved by TOP is outstanding. With so many wildlife rangers employed to protect from poachers and loggers, it is little wonder that TOP continues to attract donors and volunteers from around the world. Forests are the lungs of the world and the homes of hundreds of species.....to guard the species, you need the dedication of rangers.
Well done, TOP.
You have my total support.

I have always had passion for the Orangutans our orange cousins. I went to Borneo volunteering with the Orangutans and I needed to help more. It was obvious to reach out to The Orangutan Project to continue my part of helping these majestic people of the forest (the Orangutans). I couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of this fantastic project. I also have adopted Monti and this also helps all Orangutans to be rehabilitated so hopefully more can be returned to their home.

Thank you TOP for raising awareness of such a desperate and critical reality, our beautiful wild orangutans and other wildlife are becoming extinct and thanks to TOP and all the hard working people who devote their life in ensuring that orangutans, and other wildlife have a chance to survive in their natural habitat and hopefully not become extinct. It gives me great satisfaction to support an organization that ensures all donations go to the cause, rescuing and rehabilitating orangutans is a start, but just as important is the need to protect the forest and their natural habitat. Keep up the great work TOP!

They run a fabulous project to help save the orangutans. The team are motivated and focused on the very best possible outcome for these amazing animals. Their administration costs are very low compared to larger non for profit organisations which I love as it means more money to the projects they help fund

The Orangutan Project (TOP) is a highly effective organization making dramatic investments in saving orangutans and rain forest. As a board member and leader of a TOP chapter, I can say that TOP continues to leverage limited funds responsibly and in a multi-pronged approach to save forests and biodiversity through supporting partner organizations in the field. More funding is needed to continue the work needed to insure the long-term survival of the species and their rain forest home.

The Orangutan Project has become the leader in orangutan advocacy throughout the range states where orangutans are found in the wild. With a mission of saving wild orangutans, TOP supports a wide range of critical projects that address the holistic problem facing remaining fragmented orangutan populations - including fighting deforestation and habitat loss at the highest level. As a board member, I am impressed by the level of governance and professionalism the organization demonstrates. TOP is definitely a Great Nonprofit worthy of support.

The Orangutan Project (TOP) is a fantastic nonprofit organisation that really understands the urgency of preventing extinction of orangutans. Our most recent experience with TOP was when we asked them to help providing our organization, Scorpion Foundation, a vehicle for patrolling to protect the newly found great ape species, Tapanuli orangutan, in Batang Toru Ecosystem in Sumatra. We asked for a vehicle but it provided us not only the vehicle but it also gave us fund for operational cost of the vehicle. They really understand the urgency of the situation of the Tapanuli orangutan-the most critically endangered great ape in the world with population of only 800 remaining.

We very much appreciate TOP's supports.

The Orangutan Project (TOP) is a great partner to work with. It's team members always have good and effective communications with us at Scorpion Foundation. With TOP support, our new oraganisation The Scorpion (together with other partners in Sumatra) were able to rescue two critically endangered Sumatran orangutan babies from illegal owners in Sumatra; respectively from Aceh Barat Daya and Deli Serdang in Sumatra.

We very much appreciate TOP's supports.

Orangutans are now only found in Indonesia and Malaysia, on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. Recently it was discovered that there are actually 3 species of Orangtans. They share 97% of our DNA, are highly intelligent conscious beings, just like us. Orangutans are expected to be the first of the great apes to become extinct, possibly within 15 years, because of habitat destruction.

The Orangutans Project strategy is to secure land that contains wild orangutan populations and to rescue, rehabilitate and release ex-captive orangutans to secure habitats. In protecting habitat for Orangutans, TOP is also providing habitat for other flora and fauna including Sumatran tigers, rhinos, elephants, sunbears and all the other species that make up a functioning ecosystem.

I am impressed in the way TOP collaborates and partners with all other bona fide orangutan conservation projects as well as running their own projects to achieve their goals with maximum effectives and efficiency.

Our support for TOP started with a recommendation by a friend with knowledge of the issues impacting orangutans and other forest animals and people in Indonesia, so we donated. Then we did an Orangutan Odyssey trip in Sumatra led by Leif Cocks and, despite having seen lots of photos, we were shocked to see it. We felt this was an organisation that has integrity and is an effective model for achieving good outcomes. We also enjoy volunteering at TOP events in Brisbane to raise awareness and funds.

The Orangutan Project has been my number 1 charity of choice for my annual donations. I currently sponsor one of the orangutans being rehabilitated. I follow their work closely on social media and through the email updates. The work they do is truly incredible and so critical with the pressures Orangutans are facing. They work both in rehabilitating Orangutans and general advocacy of the issues facing Orangutans.

I have been working in the field of orangutan conservation since 2003 and have met few organisations or individuals as dedicated to this mission as The Orangutan Project (TOP) and its President, Dr Leif Cocks. TOP not only runs its own successful orangutan conservation projects, but has also been an exceptional supporter of numerous orangutan conservation projects run by other organisations, resulting in high impact and efficiency. Orangutans need TOP!
