Review for SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA KEESHOND RESCUE, INC. [SCKR], Rhome, TX, USA
I’ve been volunteering with Southern California Keeshond Rescue (SCKR) for over 17 years and am continually impressed with the way the organization stays true to its mission of helping Keeshonden in need. The group is exceptionally responsive when the call comes to jump into action for dogs needing our care and attention. The attached picture is of a little 12-1/2 year old female Keeshond who was rescued within a couple hours of being posted to an online marketplace. Thankfully, she is safe and receiving the best care thanks to SCKR.

I have been involved in animal welfare since I lost my sweet Keeshond girl Penny in 2003. Her passing made me want to serve dogs in need, which influenced me to volunteer at my local humane society. Later, I turned my efforts to supporting Keeshonden, a fire lit by my precious six year old Keesie rescue named Lizzie. As part of Lizzie’s adoption, I was requested to make a donation to Southern California Keeshond Rescue, Inc. (SCKR), a group I hadn’t heard about but would soon become devoted to as one of its biggest “fans” and as one of its volunteers.
SCKR is an organization that has stayed true to its mission of serving Keeshonden in need. It is a small group of like minded individuals who work together to ensure dogs receive the love and care they need to live happy, fulfilling lives. No stone goes unturned when it comes to helping our rescues and meeting (exceeding!) their needs. Layla, my foster girl, is an example of how the love and dedication of SCKR can change the world — one Keesie at a time.

I love being connected to Southern California Keeshond Rescue Inc. (SCKR). I’ve been associated with the group since 2005, and I never cease to be amazed with their love, compassion, and dedication to Keeshonden in need. SCKR is a small group of like-minded individuals who give their all to support SCKR’s mission of changing the world one Keesie at a time. It is an honor and a privilege to give them the highest rating — I’d give 10 stars if I could and so would Layla, my little foster girl featured in the attached photo.

SCKR is a non-profit that remains true to its mission, regardless of challenges encountered. The group goes to extraordinary lengths to help Keeshonds in need of help. SCKR is relatively small number-wise, but the effort put forward by those few individuals matches (or exceeds!) that of larger rescue organizations (an observation based on personal experience with larger rescue organizations...). I’ve been a member of the group since 2006; not a day goes by without me thanking my lucky stars for having joined SCKR.

I am a dog rescue volunteer who has witnessed firsthand the remarkable work performed by Keeshond Sunshine Rescue Foundation (KSRF). Due to their generosity and compassion, my rescue group has been able to help a significant number of dogs in desperate need of veterinary care.
I will always be grateful for their assistance in helping rescue dogs get on the path to good health.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a number of non-profits but none have made me prouder than Southern California Keeshond Rescue! SCKR is exceptional on so many levels — from launching into immediate action to assist a Keeshond in need, to doing a stellar job managing its financial resources. You would be hard-pressed to find another organization so worthy of your support!

I have been volunteering with SCKR for over ten years. You would be hard pressed to find a more compassionate, dedicated organization devoted to the health and welfare of Keeshond dogs in need. Four of my furbabies came to me through SCKR as fosters. I have also been fortunate to have the most amazing Keeshonds come into my home and then go on to remarkable forever homes.
SCKR is a small group of like minded people who go to extraordinary lengths to ensure Keesies have the opportunity to live happily for the rest of their lives. Adopters have to go through a rigorous application process that includes home inspections and reference checks. Dogs are only placed with homes that are good matches for them.
I look forward to many more years of service with SCKR. I am proud to be a member of such a worthy non-profit!
