Review for Biologists Without Borders, San Rafael, CA, USA
Being on safari with Biologists Without Borders is a life affirming and life changing experience. Sue Orloff, Founder, with her background as a wildlife biologist, inquisitive world traveler and ardent advocate of African wildlife, arranges opportunities for guests to immerse themselves in a breathtaking adventure. Guests witness first-hand how relationships, passion, science and resources working together can make a difference in protecting threatened species and their habitat. BWB provides a full and varied agenda, and comfortable accommodations. Knowledgeable and available guides and researches escort you through the probable events unfolding with animals each day. Whether it was watching the dehorning an endangered rhino, a lecture about maligned hyenas, the vet stitching up a sedated cat's wounds using a truck 's tailgate for a table, watching lions mate, hippos walking the streets in town, or sharing the road with cheetahs …being absorbed into the rhythm of each day was uniquely captivating. I carry immense respect, the people I met dedicated to preserving these animals and habitat. I have forever memories laced with gratitude and responsibility. Thank you BWB for the work you do.

Being on safari with Biologists Without Borders is remarkably different than going on safari. Sue Orloff invites guests into a world where passion, science and adventure coalesce (amalgamate ;)) to promote conservation. Her unique background as a wildlife biologist, curious world traveler and ardent advocate of African wildlife elevates the entire experience from just going on safari to being on safari. BWB succeeds beyond expectations in providing realistic experiences, comfortable accommodations, knowledgeable guides, and excellent researchers as resources. Whether it was watching the dehorning an endangered rhino, learning more about maligned hyenas, watching lions mate, the hippos, or sharing the road with cheetahs …being absorbed into the rhythm of each day was completely captivating. I will always remember Africa’s breathtaking beauty, and with immense respect, those dedicated to preserving this habitat. I have forever memories laced with gratitude and a humbling sense of responsibility….being there, on safari with Biologists without Borders.

I have followed this non-profit from the beginning when it was just a possibility, grounded in passion, to the purposeful player it has become. In Africa, Biologist Without Borders has contributed to anti-poaching efforts, funded research promoting conservation and partnered with others to acquire wildlife habitat. This is an exciting new non-profit.
