I have supported a variety of non profits and like to make sure my donations make a difference. Two things that really strike me about the IAPF is the level of transparency, and the no-frills, direct action approach. Damien Mander lives what he believes and his personal commitment and sacrifices - although I'm sure he wouldn't describe them as that - are inspirational. IAPF has a very clear focus on rhinos and this is because they are the hardest to protect - if the land is safe for rhinos, other species flourish too. The other thing about IAPF that appeals to me is the recognition, via training, equipping and accrediting, they give to the local rangers who put their lives on the line every day to protect these animals for all our benefit. Those guys on the front line are doing a mighty job against enormous odds. We should all pitch in and help however we can.
