I volunteered with IAPF in 2014 in Zimbabwe and have great respect for what they do and the incredible support they give to the rangers that protect the animals in the park. There is no frills and the money they raise goes for much needed equipment for patrolling and monitoring the park to keep out poachers. There were no poaching incidents while I was there and that is mostly because no poacher will take on the IAPF - they will go elsewhere. They also have a park they protect in Mozambique, but I was told it was too dangerous there to have volunteers. In addition to protecting the wildlife in the park, they help locals who are having conflicts with wildlife and they train and network with other anti-poaching professionals as well.
