In 2014, the light switch turned on for me at Animal Place. I had the opportunity to get close up with chickens and turkeys and see them as individuals instead of a forgotten meal. I became a volunteer the next month! Animal Place has provided sanctuary to farm animals for 31 years. Their commitment to ending farm animal exploitation and providing a second chance for so many makes them an amazing non-profit organization. This place not only saves animals, but have saved humans like me!

I first came to Animal Place as a guest for a guided tour of the sanctuary. It was at that time that I made the connection with the plant based diet I had been following and the beauty from the animals that I met. The next month, I participated in the Volunteer orientation, and have been volunteering ever since. Animal Place has been not only a sanctuary for farmed animals, but has been a sanctuary for me. It gives me peace and solace to be at the sanctuary, cleaning up after the animals, loving on them, and being outside with them enjoying their freedom. I am proud to be a part of this amazing and grateful organization.
