We stumbled upon Operation Paws for Homes and boy, were we glad we did! We were looking for a new dog and saw that there was going to be an adoption event at the local Pet Value, so we decided to go and see who was there. When we arrived there was a gorgeous plott hound mix who reminded me a lot of our greyhound who had died earlier that year. When I saw her I immediately got tears in my eyes and I knew that she was for us!
I went on my phone and did the adoption application on line and submitted it. I knew that usually adoptions usually take about a week to process so we were not expecting anything to come about that day. Since part of the process was introducing our current dog to her we decided to go back home real quick and bring our beagle to the event to meet her. They did great together! The volunteers worked so hard that they actually called our vet and the references right then and there and within an hour and a half she was ours to take home! I couldn't believe it! Everyone was so helpful and so quick about getting us processed. Her foster, John, had her since December and did a great job starting to train her which makes our job easier! Thank you to everyone and we are so happy to have her in our lives!
