Review for YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

This organization excels in developing women leaders in the Pittsburgh area. The staff are very friendly. The organization tends to have a slow internal process. It took many weeks to talk to someone within the organization and then have that person communicate to someone else to determine if the action could work.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the staff of the organization.

Review for YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

This organization excels in providing a plethora of services to benefit the community they work within. The organization also is able to remain a symbol of community in areas that may lack connectedness.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the different youth development projects they run.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the ideas the non-profit has for expanding its services in the Southwest PA region.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very helpful and friendly. However, it was at times difficult to reach the staff through email.

Review for Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 4 stars

This organization excels in its staff. The staff were very prompt and knowlegeable. They were extremely helpful in overcoming obstacles that arised in our project.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

accessible, friendly, intelligent and very responsive to suggestions.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build the next generation of female leaders in the Pittsburgh area.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to work with the organization.

Review for Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs makes you grow individually as well as professionally. The group of 16 is the most diverse group, racially, socioeconomically and culturally that I have worked with. Through the fellowship students are given opportunities to develop skills to run a board meeting more effectively, use outside of the box thinking for solutions, look at situations through different lens, and see the world through the eyes of the 15 other Fellows. During the Fellows program the Coro Staff goes out of their way to allow you to do anything you want. Each Fellow is given a tremendous amount of access to leaders and organizations within the Pittsburgh community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Forward thinking, great staff, many connections, opens doors that may be closed.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

some of the most passionate people I have ever met.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the face of leadership in the US. Coro has been in Pittsburgh for less than 10 years but already throughout Pittsburgh there are many Coro members impacting their community in a positive way.
