Review for Riverlife, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
I love the idea of creating a great, contiguous park in downtown Pittsburgh. I would love to see Pittsburgh among the greenest cities in the world, in every sense of the word "green" and this organization is moving the city towards that.

Review for Life's Work of Western PA, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
I wish that every organization was so concerned about the dignity of their clients. I wish I was always treated with as much respect and care as it seems this organization treats its clients.

Review for Bethlehem Haven of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The mission and the commitment that BH has to the city of Pittsburgh is awesome. It was obvious that the staff members looked at their position not as a job, but as a way BH’s mission intersects with their own vocation.

Review for 3 Rivers Connect, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
This organization provides a great resource, particularly for nonprofits in the Pittsburgh area. The information for so many different services is in one location. For instance, I was looking for a comprehensive list of after school programs in the area through the humanservices.net, and it was so nice to just be able to go there to find the information, instead of having to google it and hope I get good results.

Review for YouthWorks, a Program of Goodwill of Southwestern PA, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The staff is so welcoming and energetic. You can just tell they are excited to go to work in the morning. The programs seem like they are innovative and effective- helping youth through many different aspects of getting an internship that puts them on the path towards a career.

Review for Communities In Schools of Pittsburgh-Allegheny County, Springdale, PA, USA
The CIS management and staff obviously really care about the life, both present and future, of every child it works with. The staff is invested in the success of each youth. They are trying innovative ways to reach the students, through field trips, flexible schedules, and one on one learning.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
expand its programs at the existing schools and build new sites for its academies; pay their community connectors themselves so every school in the PPSD could have one

Review for Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Coro provides people with an experience in leadership that is almost impossible to duplicate. It is unlike anything I ever expected to do or even knew existed, but it is equipping me with skills that I would not be forced to work on if it weren't for Coro. It also has an amazing network of connections, both through its alumni and the organizations that Coro works with, and it makes that network accessible for everybody who works with it. Coro could service more people, and extend their network, by having fellows from more socio-economic backgrounds, because right now, even to apply you need to be from a certain background.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
work on their website.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the experience. This is really vague, but I cannot pick just one thing that I learned. It is the people, the interviews, the long sessions discussing policies. I don't always like all of it in the moment, but I enjoy where those experiences have gotten me.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very nice and helpful. It seems like they would do anything for anybody connected to the organization.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
serve more people.
Ways to make it better...
there were people from more diverse backgrounds.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
balancing meeting their mission and raising money.
One thing I'd also say is that...
everybody should be lucky enough to be connected to a Coro program at some time in their lives.
