Review for HOPE, Duluth, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have the privillage to work with HOPE as a community partner. I have been impressed with this agency from the first day I sat down with the founder Kenita Piecre-Lewis. The work HOPE is doing to assist those that are working to better their lives is nothing short of amazing and I looking to reading more succuss stories.
Keep up the wonderful work!

Review for Rainbow Village, Inc., Duluth, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have had the most unique experience with this agency, first as a resident in 1997 , as a volunteer, board member and for the last 8 years a member of their staff.
What makes this agency strong and different from others that work with homeless families, the fact they have a heart for those they serve and place the families above all else. What other agency's do you know that spend eighty cents on the dollar towards families and twenty cents towards administrative costs.

When I came into this program I was at the lowest point in my life with two small children 2 year & 8 months old, and pregnant with my third. They did not judge me, but instead supported me and provided the tools I needed to become the mother and women God has designed me to become.
Becoming homeless was not my goal, but I no longer hold my head down in shame regarding that chapter in my life and I am proud to say I once was in this program.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

change nothing. This agency has kept its doors open because they have listened to those who have been in the program and made changes when needed, they set the standards for those who work with homeless families to follow.

Review for Rainbow Village, Inc., Duluth, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been involved with Rainbow Village for 13 years—as a resident, a volunteer & mentor, a board member and as staff. When I came to Rainbow Village I was beat down, tired, and distrusting of anyone. Rainbow Village loved me through all my pain and anger, and showed me I am worthy of Gods love. Becoming homeless was a NOT a goal, but the title still comes with shame, reticule and embarrassment. I am writing part of my story so when you think of a homeless person you think of a strong women, who is educated, has always worked and paid her own way, and blessed with three wonderful and talented children, who is not to be pitied, because I picked myself up & with Rainbow Village’s, love and ongoing support, I am now reaching back and helping others.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Through the heart of this agency. Ms. Nancy Yancey and Mary Jane Labonte. Both of these women have given endless support, lessens about life, compassion, empathy, and unconditional love and support to all who walk through Rainbow Village’s doors.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the ongoing support and love extended to clients, volunteers, graduates, and anyone who walks through their doors

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

outstanding. THEY SIMPLY ROCK!!!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

wow, what they do on a shoestring budget now, the sky would be their only limit. This would provide programs we only dream about now.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  Client Served & I was in the program in 1997 with three children.
