Review for In a Perfect World, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I recently became an advisor for IAPW this past spring and volunteered for an Earth Day project. The indirect goal of the day was to teach the kids about respecting mother earth's precious resources and be more mindful of how each of us, no matter what age can do their part by re-purposing, recycling, and connecting to all living things.
We executed two simple but effective eco-friendly projects that the kids could take home consisting of making these adorable DIY bird feeders from re-purposed rolls, peanut butter, bird seeds and twine which the 4 to 5-year olds loved. Then they all created hand-painted artistic designs on canvas reusable grocery tote bags. Not only were Manuela and her husband Eric very organized and lovingly playful, along with the volunteers, but throughout both projects they exhibited genuine compassion, high energy and patience by helping each child comprehend this invaluable teachable moment.
As a nonprofit professional with over twenty years giving back, I look forward to being apart of ongoing charitable endeavors with IAPW such as this one and more. It's been a humbling privilege to be able to collaborate and volunteer for this amazingly transparent, progressive and engaging charity which creates impactful sustainable experiences for kids around the world.
