In a Perfect World

I had the pleasure of working with Jessica from In A Perfect World, and helped co-facilitate her "Good Tech" Program at JAMS Santa Monica Boys and Girls Club. It was an amazing experience to help guide the youth at the club towards using technology in a more productive manner, and I learned a lot from watching Jessica guide the students through their projects and help them ask important questions regarding the use of technology in their daily lives. Working with IAPW has been exciting, fun, informative, and I look forward to collaborating more with an organization that knocks it out of the park every time!

I had the great pleasure of working with IAPW and Manuela in Malawi, Africa, when we partnered together to provide access to clean water for both villages and schools in need.

Manuela’s genuine dedication to serving others through a holistic and authentic approach is truly admirable. Her ability to identify the needs of a community and take meaningful action ensures the greatest benefit for everyone involved.

What stands out even more is her unwavering support of women, fostering empowerment and collaboration. It’s inspiring to witness and be part of a shared mission where women uplift one another.

IAPW is such an important organization - because when I think of the world I want to live in, for my children to live in, and for their children to live in - I think of IAPW as a vital community resource that helps the leaders of tomorrow learn and apply real leadership, empathy and communication skills. I am in awe of what Manuela Testolini and her team have built. Their dedication to maximizing every donation so that it goes directly to the beneficiaries is another reason I support their mission. When I think of "it takes a village", IAPW is the village where we can gather to make a potent, and important difference that includes us all.

This semester, Heart of Los Angeles had the honor of partnering with In A Perfect World (IAPW), an organization that embodies the essence of encouraging individuals to unapologetically be their true selves. A group of 3rd graders was selected to engage in a unique curriculum designed to explore social and emotional issues through IAPW’s lens. We kicked off the semester by asking students to describe and illustrate what their perfect world would look like. As their teacher, it was inspiring to see their personalities shine through their artwork and explanations. This partnership allowed the students to grow in their understanding of what makes them and others unique. They explored themes of empathy, compassion, perseverance, neurodiversity, the importance of welcoming newcomers, and even learned about food scarcity, among other valuable topics. The highlight of the course was the discussion sessions, which exceeded our expectations. The students were always excited to begin, actively contributing and building on each other’s thoughts. The activities were equally impactful. One memorable lesson involved students creating mindfulness jars, where they learned about a boy with autism and how we all experience the world in different ways. Another key moment was a field trip to a local community garden, where students learned about various plants and had the opportunity to plant their own. This outing was tied to a lesson on food drives and how we can support our community. To wrap up the semester, Heart of LA hosted a gallery walk showcasing the students' work. During the event, the 3rd graders explained to visitors, including students and staff, the lessons and activities they had experienced through IAPW. We are deeply grateful to IAPW for partnering with us and helping to create such a memorable experience for our students. The kids loved every moment of it!

In A Perfect World (IAPW) profoundly shapes the lives of today's youth. Through their dedicated work with young people, IAPW plays a crucial role in fostering the next generation of change-makers and leaders. When I was growing up in Philadelphia in the 80's all I dreamed about was making beats, writing rhymes and recording songs with my hip hop group. The problem is no one knew anyone who had any equipment. If we knew a studio that would cut us a break so we could afford it, in return we for good grades I would've been an all A student! Now fast forward 30 years and IAPW has donated an ENTIRE media lab to the organization I work for Horton's Kids and now my kids HAVE the opportunity I dreamed about and the best part is it's free! And not only does the IAPW media lab allow our kids to record music and get their voices heard by recording podcasts but it also enables our community members to do the same! All thanks to IAPW!

I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked for In a Perfect World (IAPW) since October 2022. IAPW is a remarkable organization that is dedicated to setting youth up for success and to thrive in the world. IAPW offers a very holistic approach to support youth, specifically creating spaces/programs for both skill-building and creative outlets to empower youth to make a difference. IAPW focuses on growing youth's individual leadership and social emotional skills, as well creating connections to their peers, community, and world at large. IAPW supports youth in finding their voice and guiding them to be the change they want to see in the world. I have learned so much from my colleagues and the young people we serve. I am inspired by the dedication and commitment of the IAPW team, and I am proud to be a part of an organization that is making such a positive impact on the world.

In A Perfect World (IAPW) is a fitting name for IAPW!!! The work that Manuela and the entire IAPW staff and volunteers do on a daily basis is changing lives!!! The educational opportunities (i.e., tutor support, provided to each of the students in Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Minneapolis are life-changing!!! The change in the students that enter into the program are evidenced by data documenting their increased academic progress and success.

I have volunteered for the organization on many occasions and one of the most happiest moments volunteering is seeing the brightness in the eyes of the children and their parents when they see the change in their child’s grades, and desire to help others in other countries to ensure they have “A Perfect World.”

I have had the opportunity to work with In a Perfect World (IAPW) Founder and President Manuela Testolini and the IAPW team since October 2022. IAPW is a remarkable organization that is dedicated and focused on its mission to inspire and empower youth with the tools and resources to thrive and make a difference in their communities. IAPW takes a unique approach to youth empowerment and leadership because it goes beyond "just" teaching youth life and leadership skills. IAPW provides opportunities for youth to discover and express their voices through arts, music, and technology, to become empathetic and compassionate individuals, and to use the skills they have learned to be youth leaders to make a difference in their local communities and in the world. IAPW is making a difference in the lives of the young people who participate in IAPW programs AND in the lives of many more people served by youth-led community initiatives serving under-resourced communities locally and around the world. The lasting impact of the "IAPW experience" has had on its Youth Ambassadors goes into adulthood. Several Youth Ambassadors who have "graduated" from the program and are now adults still keep in touch with Manuela. The high energy, enthusiasm, drive, and contagious passion demonstrated every day by Manuela and the IAPW team is inspiring, motivating, and a privilege to be a part of!

I first became aware of In A Perfect World through a dear friend of mine. I was so inspired! What Manuela Testolini, the founder has created with IAPW is remarkable. Her passion for supporting and empowering the youth is incredible. She’s built schools around the world, supplied water in villages who have none, supporting inner schools with opportunities and after school programs that are changing the lives of our youth.
I was especially impressed with her daughters who are involved with IAPW. I’ve always felt really good about being involved and donating because 100% of donations go direct to programs.

In A Perfect World passes along knowledge and the belief that our younger generations can be the change. As an ambassador, we study problems and respond with innovative solutions. I've worked on backpack drives over the years, giving back to schools and communities across LA. As I work with my peers, I see leadership in all of us as we come up with ways to take the stage in helping others. I will forever carry with me, the tools that I have been given by Manuela and the amazing ambassadors around me. Not only do they give back, but they grant a torch to us all inspiring us to bring change. It's immeasurable how amazing the In A Perfect World organization is.

My son and I have been supporters of IAPW for many years and we have learned so much from Manuela and her team. We really enjoy working with the other volunteers and our favorite events are Luna and Lucia's Backpack Drives. It is a real a joy to see the kids excited about participating in the activities during the events and the smiles when they receive their backpacks and school supplies. I cannot wait to volunteer for the next event and my family and I are forever supporters of In A Perfect World.

In A Perfect World continues to inspire me and all of the children it helps. With the world in the current state, it is so great to see a non-profit invest so much in our young people. I have participated in backpack drives for under privileged and under served communities and it brings me as much joy as it helps young students. The mentorship programs instill a sense of community and empower kids in immeasurable ways. IAPW teaches kids leadership skills and gives them the tools to succeed. These skills are life altering. By providing the tools children need to succeed and the resources and support IAPW can really impact young lives. I can't say enough about how great of an organization In A Perfect World is.

Truly, if IAPW was around when I was a kid, I would have been the first Black President. It's rare to find an organization for youth, steeped in empathy and authenticity.

Their programming is both unique and accessible to kids from marginalized communities. But it doesn't stop there. They provide opportunities for kids all economic backgrounds to volunteer and participate in meaningful ways.

In a Perfect World is an amazing organization. I've volunteered at their events and on their backpack drives and have seen first hand the good that they do. Education is the means to changing your life and IAPW works hard to give children around the world the opportunity and environment to learn and grow. I look forward to my girls getting older and being able to volunteer and learn about all the good that can be done by working hard and trying.

I have been involved with this nonprofit for about 6, almost 7 years now. I have enjoyed every single moment of meeting the most amazing people and making huge impacts on so many people’s lives. I feel so fortunate to be so close to this nonprofit. Manuela is such an amazing woman and has such a strong motivation for helping people and changing the world. This organization has made a tremendous impact on my son's life. He has participated in activities and events for over 4 years. In A Perfect World has truly made a huge impact on so many low income communities. With IAPW, I am given the resources and opportunity to help low income families receive basic necessities to survive. With IAPW’s assistance, I have changed over 100+ children’s lives in the matter of only a year. IAPW has inspired me to fight and make a change on causes that may have seemed “too big.” I learned that “little by little, a little becomes a lot.” This foundation taught me to never give up, and by giving back, you can make a bigger impact than you might think.

The opportunity to become a Youth Ambassador for In A Perfect World has completely changed my life. Over the past four years, this organization has fostered my growth in my leadership and communication skills and has helped my find my voice in this world. Today, I am confident enough to create a change in whatever I am passionate about and have the tools to help myself as well as others. I have acquired a new family that I know will always support, uplift and inspire me.

In a perfect world is an incredible organization that supports the next generation through the arts and education. I have worked as an ambassador for the past 5 years, and my experience has been absolutely priceless. I have learned so many life skills such as leadership, organization, and empathy though my service work. I couldn’t be prouder to be continuing my journey with IAPW as a youth advisor this upcoming year.

My daughter, Emma had a great time taking the Dreamcatchers Pint-size Activist Workshop, she was definitely excited to participate and inspired by Manuela and the other kids that participated in the program.

My family and I are so lucky to have been introduced to the In A Perfect World organization and its incredible founder, Manuela Testolini. I have never been involved with a group that works so tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of children.

My son has gained so much from participating in their Dreamcatcher’s program. With every workshop and project, he has learned priceless lessons that he’ll take with him to adulthood. He now has a confident voice and feels empowered to make a difference in the world (something that every child should learn)!

We will continue to support this charity that gives 100% of their raised funds to building schools around the world, helping poor communities become self-sufficient, and empowering children to become confident leaders. No help is stronger than the help to EMPOWER someone who is in a fragile situation and hereby is not in the position of seeing, feeling or believing in his own capacity. IAPW does not only help by offering material goods but also by teaching kids (and adults) how powerful they can be. The volunteers do so by raising the kids confidence in themselves, by showing love and understanding and by encouraging kids to express themselves through art and music the most powerful instruments to do so. Those kids will never forget how (good, strong and happy) they felt as a person in a loving and caring community and led by that feeling they experienced as a kid they will also find a way as an adult to support themselves and others. Fantasy is a gift and can lead to imaginations that light a fire in someone's soul and gives this person the strength to make dreams come true. Manuela Testolini and all the people she inspired to work for IAPW lighted up many souls and hereby gave them hope and strength to make their world a better place and even in some moments a perfect world. Thank you for this heartwarming and inspiring work.

What my three children have learned from Manuela Testolini as Youth Ambassadors for In A Perfect World has been the most impactful, formative, and character-building experiences of their lives. In A Perfect World has empowered them to discover the power within themselves to make positive changes in their community and in the world, and to lean forward, even as youth, as thought leaders and responsible humanitarians. These experiences have positively influenced the trajectory of their lives, and they will be change-makers, true leaders, and genuine givers because of Manuela Testolini's impartation of servant leadership.

I first became aware of IAPW through my husband and once I learned what it was all about, I rolled up my sleeves and dived right in to help support a cause that I was honored to contribute to. Being able to be so DIRECTLY hands on with providing not only financial support but ACTUAL support in physically handing over items to people, whether it be kids in need of supplies or kids in need of schools to spend their days being educated in, IAPW gives you the opportunity to plant and grow all of the seeds that will help for generations and generations to come. It’s not just an organization, it is an opportunity to be a part of changing lives forever. It is an opportunity to create a future where one may not exist. Never have I ever been fortunate enough to be in loved with a nonprofit that is so deeply committed to the health and welfare of both individuals AND the collective greater good of the world. There is a sense of deep love and commitment coursing through the veins of this organization and you can feel it at every fundraising event. IAPW is a well run organization with proven results. The money raised is used for programs and outreach to the underserved communities. As the founder and main driver of the organization, Manuela's dedication and work ethic has resulted in action. I was introduced to In A Perfect World in 2015. As a member of the Women's Leadership Group, Executive Committee, for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington DC, i was greatly impressed with the unique and very successful Youth Ambassador's Program of IAPW.
The program represents the very best model for how to give youths in at- risk local communities a voice, and the knowledge and means to make genuine improvements in the quality of life and education in their communities. But it does so much more. It expands their horizons to the vital importance of not only working close to home, but also extending a caring, helping hand to global communities facing life and death challenges.
Everything that IAPW does is an example of the highest standards for giving back, whether in the communities within the U.S., or globally - building over 33 schools- where the IAPW is continuing its work to help achieve integrated sustainable communities. There are only a few organizations globally that accomplish as much for the resources expended. The direct experiences I have had, working with the exceptional local IAPW Youth Ambassadors on projects, as they partnered with the Mother Earth Project, Horton's Kids, the BGCGW at THEARC, and Flicks4Change, DC and LA, are inspiring. What impresses me every time, is the way the youth Ambassadors recognize their potential and eagerly accept the responsibility to make this a better world. They do it with dedication, joy, and creativity. It is an honor to be on the Advisory Board and see the selfless leadership adhering to the highest standards while it consistently seeks ways to excel in its performance.

I had the pleasure of volunteering for In a Perfect World’s summer 2019 backpack drive for inner-city children in Los Angeles. The event was beautifully coordinated and executed, with many donations, volunteers and projects to be organized simultaneously. Everything ran like clockwork, including a large number of children participating in multiple activity stations. A good deal of responsibility was delegated to a talented group of “teen ambassadors” who were articulate, well-informed and took command of their respective posts in a professional manner AND with great compassion and kindness for the volunteers and youth participants alike. IAPW has clearly invested in the development of many fine ambassadors, a great benefit to the organization, as well as to the personal development and enrichment of the ambassadors themselves. IAPW has a remarkable structure of training and empowering its volunteer and ambassador staff starting from within the organization, that seamlessly extends out to serve and empower children both locally and internationally. I loved seeing the direct benefits to the youth we were serving since this volunteer opportunity relied on real, hands-on, person to person contact that many other volunteer opportunities do not offer. Overall IAPW is an incredibly effective, efficient and big-hearted organization that holistically addresses the needs of underserved children worldwide. Bravo IAPW, and many thanks for the opportunity to participate!!

by being both a volunteer and advisory board member, I've had firsthand experience with the powerful impact IAPW has on those it reaches. from the brilliant smiles on a primary schooler receiving his/her FIRST backpack filled with fresh school supplies, to the shining spirits of the young African girls who realize they have a chance to be educated and realize their dreams.....IAPW actualizes its mission to the purest extent and is much deserving of any and all accolades.

I have enjoyed working with the nonprofit for the past year and a half. I have met so many incredible people with the same drive to empower children through education. Overall I have had a wonderful experience with IAPW.

I can't say enough good things about this organization and its generous self scraficing work along with its founder. I met Manuela Testolini through her husband at the time back in 2004. He and I are fellow musicians but over the years bonded closer with her becuase of her kind, self sacrificing spirit and big heart. Never seeking the spotlight, her goal and that of the organization is to make others shine and help those less fortunate with the hope of making this world a better place. Whether if its building schools, donating music equipment or backpacks to underprivledged children..etc.. everything is for the benefit of others and not for self. I have recently started volunteering my time as a grant writer for this foundation. I have had the honor and pleasure of serving by the sides of some of the most hard working , generous , visionaries committed to giving children around the world an opportunity for a better life thru education and self empowerment. Daily I am reminded by the action of this organization of the importance of their mission and I am motivated to see the world thru a different lens because of the experiences shared.

I have been privileged to have worked with this nonprofit organization for the past few months and am continuously astonished with the amount of passion, energy and drive that is behind everything that they do. I was fortunate enough to volunteer with Ms. Testolini for an In a Perfect World function which had partnered with another non-profit for an event within the community. There is no question the passion that Ms. Testolini has for our youth is insurmountable. I absolutely enjoyed volunteering with In a Perfect World and working with the children.

For years I have been involved with various efforts to mentor and support young people across the US. It wasn't until I connected with the founder of In a Perfect World that I meant a leader who truly understood the need to give voice to young people. Through building incredible connections and generous donations I've seen what how empowering giving voice and listening to the young can be for them.

As important - IaPW has acted on what was heard and the lives of young people and their communities are forever changed as a result. So much has been done in the first 10years and there so much more planned for the future of those in need.

Last fall our small rural community of 1,300 people pulled together to build a beautiful addition to our public library, however the project construction took every last cent and more. The brand new building was to sit empty.

That’s when In a Perfect World stepped in--

They furnished our new addition with sturdy tables and chairs so people could use and enjoy the addition. It's been less than a year since the building was constructed and In a Perfect World furnished the community space, but in that time the Library's new center has been used for a town hall meeting, a local author book fair, multiple art programs for children, a series of local history talks, area small business trainings and by a children's literacy program.

Their donation to our community truly was a gift to people of all ages and economic levels. Thank you In a Perfect World!

I started with In a Perfect World as a volunteer at a Free Arts day in Minnesota, which was funded by IAPW. I was touched by by the children and their smiles as we did arts and crafts and played music together. Since then I have become a Board Member and work with a wonderful team of dedicated people who's mission is: "a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the next generation by creating and supporting programs that provide education, mentoring and artistic expression to underserved and at-risk youth around the world."

Our mission allows us to REACH many, here at home as well as throughout the world. We have built schools in six countries, furnished children's bedrooms at a retreat for Veterans in Virginia, granted funding to a library in Wisconsin for tables, chairs and recorders and helped numerous teachers with school supplies in California.

I am honored to be a part of In a Perfect World and very proud of the work we have done and the future of the Foundation!

In a Perfect World’s (IaPW) desire to make a difference is deep in the heart of Texas! This year, Manuela Testolini embraced the community of Northside in Fort Worth by supporting a summer camp, music classes and a baseball team. Ms. Testolini, sponsored a Summer Art & Music Camp in August that was attended by 47 at risk school aged children. These were provided 3 healthy meals a day, participated in creative art classes that encouraged reading, creative thinking and problem solving. The Summer Art & Music Camp was so well received, it has been extended to include a fall offering. Five of the children are learning to play an instrument and attend weekly music classes.

Lastly, the Cowtown Outlaws baseball teams wins games and championships and the coaches and supervisors set the tone for integrity and teamwork. IaPW sponsored 4 ten year old boys that could not afford their dues or uniforms and they also sponsored team jerseys for all 3 teams ages 10-18.

As executive director of a nonprofit supported by In A Perfect World, I am deeply grateful for the interest the foundation has demonstrated in our community based organization. Manuela Testolini and the entire foundation team have shown themselves to be passionate about improving the lives of children and knowledgeable about the importance of foundation support in achieving that mission.

In A Perfect World Foundation does amazing work in the community. They are a cost-effective and professional organization that makes a huge difference in the lives of young people who face difficult challenges. As executive director of Free Arts Minnesota, I was pleased to work with In A Perfect World Foundation in helping children discover the healing power of art in their lives. In A Perfect World funded our program at Bridge for Homeless Youth for four years. During that time, many homeless teens received the great gift of working with professional artists across various disciplines, in order to develop their own artistic skills and creatively process their feelings. Manuela and her board are focused, dedicated and ambitious. In A Perfect World is an organization worth investing in.

I'm honored to be working alongside In a Perfect World as a multi-cause organization that supports principles that foster altruism, alleviate poverty and provide education for kids around the world. Understanding what constitutes a perfect world provides a beautiful foundation for growth. Founder Manuela Testolini tirelessly and selflessly provides a bedrock of love for children around the world. In its 10th year with 15 schools and growing, IAPW is a real testament to its positive impact on the world.

I am honored to work with In A Perfect World and see their incredible support for youth. Working with IAPW has been a wonderful experience. In addition to giving back to children in need, it's rewarding to know there is a long term positive impact on the kids. One example is when we had an event and the exercise was to draw a picture of what In a perfect world meant to them. This young girl drew a picture of a woman buying something on the street corner. After asking her to explain her drawing she said "In my perfect world, my mom wouldn't buy drugs and would spend more time with me and my sister". It reminded me of how impressionable young kids can be and how essential it is to be involved.

In A Perfect World Is a groundbreaking non-profit organization with a heart to help and a solution oriented mindset. In A Perfect World Organization stands out as a multi cause charity organization working with multiple causes from helping Children to youth poverty alleviation. Founder Manuela Testolini is an incredible mentor and president who inspires others to contribute to making a positive social impact. In A Perfect World Foundation has touched our classroom is so many ways. They have donated to countless projects, making my students’ education more fulfilling and interesting. Without their assistance, my classroom would go without the additional resources that truly make a difference in my students’ school experience. I am grateful that they have maintained a relationship with our school over the years. It has made my students know that In A Perfect World Foundation’s efforts are long-lasting and they have made a genuine commitment to improving students’ lives. They have done outreach with my students, making our experience more personable. Their generosity has served as a model to us all. I have had the pleasure of working with In a Perfect World several times. I have found the entire team to be committed to their mission and vision and impressed with their level of results and compassion for all they serve. And they go out of their way to deliver even more than they promise. They put their time and their money to work and are changing lives. Everyday! It has been a blessing and honor to work with them.

i heard about this org through a friend who had volunteered at another one of their projects. i got in touch with them. i was able to volunteer at one of their arts days. i was really impressed to see the founder there and i believe there were members of the their board there as well. each of them taking the time to work with a child one on one. the only negative comment i would have is that they do lots of good work, but there are not as many opportunities to get involved personally. and i like to volunteer!
