Review for Project Hand Up, West Warwick, RI, USA
I have been involved with Project Hand Up for over 7 years now. We started out with a meal feeding less than 100 people a week to serving an average of 500 families a week with groceries to help offset their grocery bill. We offer a mix of non perishable and perishable food which allows families to save hundreds of dollars in groceries a month! Project Hand Up has many dedicated volunteers, without them we wouldn’t be able to help so many. Also tons of support from many companies along with the community that help us help so many as well. It takes a village and we certainly have that!

Keeping Kids Fishing and John are such an awesome part of the community. Not only does he hold events to teach kids how to fish but he also gets fishing gear to them if needed. Keeps them outdoors! Awesome job John!!

This non profit has helped provide over 1000 fishing rods and gear to kids as well as taught them how to fish! The kids he helps are so excited you can see it all over their faces. John will even take equipment that needs to be fixed and fixes it to pass it on to someone in need. We need more role models for kids like him! Well done John!

During this Covid 19 crisis we have seen our numbers of people we serve grow by amazing amounts. About triple the amount than before! We have an awesome group of volunteers that help us help so many people each day we are open. Our high for a 4 1/2 hr period was almost 400 families! So many families are able to put fresh food on their tables with help from all our supporters. Been volunteering with this organization for over 4 yrs now and it’s the most fulfilling thing I have ever done!

As a volunteer for Be The Change/Project Hand Up I am surrounded by other volunteers who work tirelessly to help others. We are able to help so many people save money on their grocery shopping so they have enough money to pay other bills. So many smiles each day we are open.....from happy customers to volunteers who are happy they were able to help them!

I have been volunteering with this organization for 2 yrs now and what a wonderful experience it has been! We have a core group that works tirelessly to help the people in the community and along with them support throughout the community through businesses and other community members. We run a pantry and a Sunday meal and also help out in other ways the best we can. We have been able to add fruits and veggies to our pantry this year which helps give our customers healthy choices. The pantry helps them make ends meet by offering staples they need to make it thru a week. And the Sunday meal not only gives them a hot meal but a place to gather with friends to eat. Love helping this organization and seeing the smiles from the people we help!

I have been volunteering with Be The Change since Jan 2016 and what a rewarding experience it has been. With the communities help we have been able to lift the spirits of so many. Each Sunday it's wonderful to be able to serve a hot, home cooked meal to the homeless and impoverished in West Warwick. We also collect donations of toiletries and in the past have collected school supplies and now are collecting coats etc for the winter months to make things a little better for the people we help. Such a great group of volunteers along with an amazing leader! Couldn't do it without Coreen....love what we do and all that help accomplish our goal!
We love you Mindy!
