After retiring in 2007 from a corporate attorney position, I volunteered for several wonderful nonprofits, including the WSLB. I completed the WSLB's excellent 40 hour DV counseling training, and began volunteering as a legal advocate, helping secure restraining and custody orders, which I found very gratifying. What really blew me away, however, was the staff's non-pareil commitment to clients. They really do change lives! I was so impressed with their work, when I was asked to join the board, I answered with an enthusiastic "yes!" and am now Board President. Honestly, we are only getting better and better.
