Excellent rescue. I’ve volunteered there and Lori has everything organized and ship shape. The horses are all well cared for and well loved.

Review for Sunkissed Acres Rescue And Retirement Inc, Summerville, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Sunkissed Acres does an invaluable service for the needy and neglected horses in the surrounding area. It is well run by a dedicated person who works well with the community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the animals that have needed rehabilitation. Lori has an amazing ability to bring animals back from the brink to good health.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have a difficult time filling the shoes of the present manager. She is doing a great job.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching a scared, skinny horse find a restful haven at Sunkissed Acres where there is always food to eat, friends to hang out with and kind humans to care for it.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Lori is mostly a one woman operation. Most of the volunteers that I have met over the years have come from an hour or more away to help with fund raisers and the annual open house.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

take in many more animals that need someone to care for them.

Ways to make it better...

In a perfect world, everyone would take great care of their horses and there would be no need for a horse rescue. But unfortunatley that is not the case and Sunkissed Acres fills a need.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of dedicated, trained volunteers from the community and fund raising.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is a well run rescue that gives the horses a second chance for a quality life.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
