Review for Global Media Outreach, Dallas, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I came to know Global Media Outreach about four years ago. I was overwhelmed by the vision they had and how they could serve people all around the world. I wanted to be a part of that, so I signed up to be one of their Online Missionaries. The training was very thorough. And the enjoyment of sharing the good news of my faith with people from around the world has consistently been a reward in itself. But I am growing so much in my own faith both through the challenges some of the contacts pose in their questions and in seeing how God's word transforms their lives. GMO staff continue to strengthen their system in support of the efforts of us frontline Online Missionaries. It is a joy to work with GMO.

I started with this ministry when a friend mentioned it several years ago. I thought this is an interesting way to practice my evangelism from my own home. Over time I became a community leader of a dozen or so other online missionaries. My experience has deepened and my ability to help others respond is gratifying. I get the opportunity to "talk" everyday with people from around the world about Jesus. Some of them are believers who are struggling with issues like their inability to fight temptation, or why their prayers don't seem to be answered. Others are non-believers who are trying to find out what Christianity is all about. And still others are relatively new believers who need help, encouragement and direction. Helping all of these people understand the truth of the Gospel message is truly rewarding. The great side benefit of all these communications is that I am much more confident in my face to face evangelism, just as I have hoped when I first started. This organization has helped me as an online missionary volunteer and I know it has helped hundreds of people I've communicated with (and continue to support in many instances) over the years.
