Review for HavServe , Orlando, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

If you seek an adventure of a lifetime without actually feeling like you've got to conquer the world alone, then HavServe might just be the perfect opportunity for you.

By the end of my senior year of high school, my friend and I had long contemplated a journey to a place where we could experience life in a completely different world. Little did we know what a tiny village in Haiti, Lebrun, had in place for us.

From the craziness that they call "driving" to the 500 smiles you see every day at camp you can't help but fall in love with the tiny country typically known as no more than beach resorts and a fatal 2010 earthquake.

With the support of the welcoming, caring, and ambitious volunteers at HavServe, you feel quite at ease in a place that is remarkably different from what we call "home". In my case, HavServe had taught me to appreciate the simplicity of the slow-paced lifestyle that is not busied with technology filled with Facebook and Snapchat but rather an ultimate frisbee game with the locals. HavServe had taught me to selflessly give as much as I can to a community that has the potential to thrive independently. Most importantly, HavServe had taught to me work with faith in my peers, myself, and the leaders in Haiti in order to achieve what might seem unimaginable because quite frankly, there are leaders in every country and they are more capable than the world knows.

I am proud to say I was a part of HavServe, a team that welcomed me with open arms because even when I didn't believe it, they told me that I Have more than I know, and should Serve what I can. There is no doubt in my mind that this opportunity fulfilled that life experience that we were looking for.

Thank you HavServe.
