It is a scam and has been for years. Very few horses are adopted out compared to other real rescues. They call themselves a sanctuary when in reality it doesn't care well for the very few rescues they have and most donated funds are for the director's own 3 horses. For years many have attempted to expose this 501-C as a fraud. Volunteers are stall cleaners, free labor and on occasion allowed to mingle with the director's horses. It give real rescues a bad rap. Horses are not seen by veterinarians often enough, for the exception of the director's. Squalid conditions and a serious fly problem leading to summer soars. Sad for the horses.

Of the many horse rescues I have encountered, this one is the very best. Not only are many horses saved from either slaughter or from owners relinquishing them; all are brought back to health. All horses are fully vetted, their medical needs are met and either trained or retrained so they are fully adoptable and safe.
The number of horses adopted out is astonishing, close to 70 since the beginning of the year and that is amazing considering the director has limited funds, through her efforts she has managed to develop a caring network of people who do their best to assist. I will always support this rescue from which I adopted my beautiful mare in April 2017.
