Mission: "Love This Horse, Equine Rescue Inc." is a horse rescue specializing in taking in forgotten, neglected and abused Arabian horses from law enforcement seizures, local animal shelters, distressed owners, and from low-end horse auctions. Our goal is to train all of our rescue horses, so they are rideable and to find our horses permanent adoptive homes. Our fantastic training team works hard to start or to restart our Arabian horses under saddle. To follow our training adventures, visit our Facebook Page at: www.facebook.com/lovethishorse

My husband and I have supported and volunteered with Love This Horse Equine Rescue since Vera started rescuing Arabians (and others). Everything LTH does is with the best interests of the horses in mind. Whether a horse needs extra time to decompress, extra vetting to get sound, extra food to gain weight, whatever it takes to help the horses is done by Vera and her team. Vera makes sure her horses are completely ready before they’re adopted out and she makes sure that every adopter is matched with the most suitable horse. She also provides a safety net, in case an adopter’s situation changes, the horse can always come back to Love This Horse. I truly can’t say enough good things about this rescue ❤️

Love This Horse,Equine rescue is a top notch Equine rescue. Not only do they provide sanctuary for horses that are not adoptable but they also take in horses that can be rehabilitated and adopted. Each horse is provided all necessary vetting to include immunizations,  dental, caststration,  if needed, and farrier prior to evaluation of any training needs that each horse may need to ensure a proper forever home based on the horses needs. Vera provides a nurturing environment for all equines that comes into her care. She pairs adopters with horses based on the needs of the horse and the skills of the adopter. This ensures a win-win for all, setting horse and rider up for success.

I've adopted 2 lovely geldings from Vera and I am so grateful for them and Vera

Love This Horse Equine Rescue does amazing work for these horses! Vera and her daughters, as well as volunteers devote themselves to the welfare of their residents. Many of the horses who come have been abused or neglected and dumped at auction. LTH let’s them decompress and begin to trust humans again. It’s truly a remarkable thing to see the transformation in so many! Their trainer is amazing, very patient and in tune with each horse. They all work together in preparing the horses to be adopted into their forever homes. However some horses aren’t able to become rideable due to various reasons, but they become sanctuary horses who live out their lives surrounded by friends and being cared for. I am so grateful for the hard work that everyone does, truly a labor of love.

Vera and LTH are the reap thing. Open and honest about everything.

In 2016 I adopted an Arabian mare who had been starved, neglected and horrifically abused mentally and physically. I had fallen in love with the mare online and wanted to adopt her but Vera insisted that I spend time at the rescue and with the mare to make sure we were a good match. We were and Sarah came home with me.

In 2019 it was clear that Sarah was not rideable so I put the word out to LTH that I needed another horse that I could ride. I wasn't giving up Sarah because I don't believe horses are disposable. I told Vera exactly what I needed in riding horse after being very honest with myself and with Vera. She found me a SSH that had been neglected and run through auctions. Lola hs been a dream horse.

LTH gets all of my charity contributions small as they are because I believe in the work they do.

I've had people rage that LTH charges for adoptions but the fee is usually about a fifth of the money spent on acquiring, vet care, farrier care, feeding, rehabilitation and training that goes into these horses.

As a supporter I've been in awe of this top-notch Arabian horse rescue since it began. The sheer quantity of horses they help every year is amazing. Vera helps local law enforcement horses, owners who need to surrender horses, and local at-risk auction horses - they even take in breeder castaways to rehome. Best of all, they do not rush rehabilitation, or scrimp on veterinary care, and horses will not be adopted out until they have been well trained. This is rescue done right - not only is it costly but time intensive. The rewards are that these horses should be safe from the slaughter pipeline and well protected with their adoption contract. If you are looking for a non Arabian rescue horse, Love this Horse has also helped mustangs, thoroughbreds and quarter horses. Eileen LeBlanc is their excellent trainer.

Sent an SOS for assistance with 4 horses that need rescuing. Instead of responding with a simple yes/no they replied back that I am taking advantage of rescues, I am greedy and hope that my grandmother haunts me. My grandmother ran an animal rescue w/approx. 300 animals, She passed away Dec. 2019. She didn't leave money for care of the animals or to fund employees. I have re-homed all but 4 horses and continue to employee 3 employees over the past 10 months. Shame on this rescue for criticizing all the hard work we've put into finding homes for these animals and wishing that my grandmother haunts me .

Of the many horse rescues I have encountered, this one is the very best. Not only are many horses saved from either slaughter or from owners relinquishing them; all are brought back to health. All horses are fully vetted, their medical needs are met and either trained or retrained so they are fully adoptable and safe.
The number of horses adopted out is astonishing, close to 70 since the beginning of the year and that is amazing considering the director has limited funds, through her efforts she has managed to develop a caring network of people who do their best to assist. I will always support this rescue from which I adopted my beautiful mare in April 2017.
