Review for Corazon de Vida Foundation, Irvine, CA, USA
Having observed the work done in a house in Tijuana, as a public health scientist, I can state the fact that they have a formula in raising the children with a strong foundation. Needs assessment is done with a psychologist; they are provided their food, shelter and basic needs; above all, there's an emphasis in education.
Just an excerpt of my dialogue with a coworker:
Co-worker: These kids are so beautiful! You made it out alive, sure, but didn't one of them steal your heart?
Me: Why must you ask such difficult rhetorical questions?
Co-worker: Didn't you want to bring at least one back.
Me: *Nostalgic smile.* I did. Yes, I did. But that would be called kidnapping.
