My daughter had asked me a few months ago to join the Redondo group to one of the Corazon De Vida orphanages on March 31st. It was a real "feel good" day as the youngsters were starved for attention and whether it was playing soccer with the boys, playing games with the girls, reading to the younger children or pushing them on the swing you could feel the love from these children. My personal highlight was seeing some former residents who were now in college and/or graduating from college. There is so much need, and so little funding.
What a beautiful experience for myself and my teen son, to see the reality of life and not be consumed in your electric device and fantasy life of teens these days.
When you see you can make a difference, you get more and more excited to do more and more..
I am Hoping to be very involved with this organization more than the other ones I am Actively on.
I was reluctant to volunteer my time and resources to a Foundation which supports Orphanages South of the border in Mexico. My natural concerns were that my donations would make it to those in need.
But after spending the entire day there on Saturday, I can say that it’s a decision I do not regret and I look forward to continuing my contributions and volunteering my time in the coming year.
The orphanage we visited was a well run compound where the kids were well tended. We were given a tour of the facility and I was impressed by how well organized and thought out everything is. These kids will be given a chance in life and they could use your support with any donations, gift cards, computer equipment, which will be well put to use and appreciated by all.
I encourage everyone to donate. This foundation an orphanage has been well vetted and it is a worthy cause.
I spent a weekend doing hearing tests at several orphanages. I was glad to contribute in a small way to the devoted efforts coordinated through Corazon de Vida to improve the life chances and well being of children who cannot live with their own families.
I remember when I first started coming around these homes.. since I first stepped in the first one I fell in love with these beautiful kids!! This Organization does so much and more for them.. I love CDV
Best experience I had the chance to share with CDV, the persons who work there are angels, I have so much admiration for them.
I truly enjoyed spending the entire week at the orphanage. I was inspired by the hard work, cheerful attitudes, and loving care of the children exhibited by all of the staff. The children are happy, well cared for, friendly, and treat one another as family. In addition to spending time with the kids, I worked in the kitchen where 3 meals per day are prepared for approximately 80 people by 2 amazing ladies. They were so welcoming to invite me into their kitchen, and I learned so much from them. The organization and work ethic shown by the children during meals was excellent as they prepared the tables, served younger students, washed the dishes, and swept the floor at the end of each meal. I will definitely return to this place if possible not only to help, but also because of the inspiration it provides for a life of hope and kindness.
We felt very blessed to have this opportunity to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and have a mass there celebrated by Fr. Hartge. The tilma with the 500 year old image or Our Lady of Guadalupe and its inspiration to millions of Catholics everywhere made this pilgrimage memorable and helped deepen our faith.
Our later portion of the trip was to the orphanage Rancho de Los Niño’s near Ensenada. We were accompanied by our fellow pilgrims and about 9 others to spend time working to improve the orphanage and to offer love and attention to the many children. Included in our missionary group were Fr Hartge, Fr Klee, Sister Saima and Sister Lynnita who were a joy to be with and an inspiration of God’s servants. We found our time here peaceful, simple, filled with kindness for others and rewarding. We will cherish this blessed opportunity as we continue to grow in our faith and love for God.

This organization does great work. I have been on two trips to provide volunteer services. The experience was incredibly inspiring! George and the team work very hard and the impact is very evident.
I remeber the first time i went to a orphanage trip in Mexico with corazon it was the best weekend i had in a long time learning a new language and playing with kids they made me very comfortable and now i go all the time.I would recommend anyone thats wants to see how kids live in mexico go with corazon.
I began traveling with Corazon De Vida just over a year ago and can not speak highly enough of the work they do daily on behalf of hundreds of children. These children are inquisitive, happy and growing into incredible global citizens. They are well cared for because of the support of Corazon De Vida.
A friend introduced me to Corazon De Vida, and my life has forever been changed. I just attended my fifth trip to volunteer, helping and donating to aid the the foundation as it gives these sweet children a home and education-- up through college for the children that want a degree. This is an incredible organization and incredibly worthy of your time and any donation you can offer. Can't recommend highly enough.
I absolutely LOVE this organization. I have been a volunteer for several years. I love that I can see firsthand how donations and contributions are being used for the children and the homes they live in. I am a monthly sponsor and I feel so confident that children are being supported to be in school. CDV holds education as a number one priority even after they graduate. The trips are so easy to go on, I feel so safe going over on the bus. The staff really knows what they are doing. The best part is how wonderful the kids are. They are so sweet and loving and amazing. Every trip I go on has been so rewarding and fun. I would recommend this giving to everyone, kids too! One of the best gifts you could ever give!
One of the greatest gifts in my life is to be able to work with such incredible organization and people. The lives we touch, give and opportunity to and programs we are able to put in place, gives me hope for a better tomorrow. It's a must visit, join, and get involved in!
Joining Corazon De Vida has truly opened my heart to new possibilities. Being able to go on an organized trip, not having to worry about anything besides spending time with the kids has been the most rewarding Saturday activity I've done thus far in my life. These kids only care for one thing, someone to hold and hug, someone to play with... someone who cares... Since joining I've been telling all my friends and inviting as many ppl as I can to go! If you have the opportunity this is a must visit, must see for your self and must contribute the most important thing you can... your time! :)
Volunteering with this organization has been such a wonderful and rewarding experience. Seeing and working with the children has brought me much joy and I hope the children are as happy as I am when we meet. I am grateful to donate my time and my energy to such a worthy cause that focuses on the children and truly puts the children first. The children are bright and resilient, and they are an inspiration. I applaud Corazon de Vida and the work that they do. Their mission statement and their values are highly reflected in their work and I am grateful to be a part of that. Thank you!
amazing kids , amazing organization, amazing leaders... went their for a day trip to spend time at the orphanage, the kids are clean, and well taken care off. They are sent to private schools to help end the poverty cycle. The leaders of the facilities take care of these Kids as if they are their own. Special thank you to George, who coordinated our visit and does an amazing job helping these kids
I couldn't believe when my 15 year old daughter approached me and mentioned she wanted to register to visit an orphanage in Mexico with Corazon de Vida. I thought was a nice idea and it was just right to give back, what I didn't know was the life changing experience of this trip. We shared with my daughter quality time talking while riding the bus, and once we arrived the kids welcomed us with smiles, sharing and playing time was so fun, we though we were the givers of love and attention, instead we received their love and appreciation. The trip was safe and fun! and I can't wait to go back.
Amazing work this organization does. I took the trip down with such high hopes and it definitely delivered. The whole bus ride down was well organized with uplifting background information (and we even had some success stories on board with us). The kids were so excited to have us there and spend time with them. The group does a great job of explaining where the donations go and show you. These kids will steal your heart. This was definitely an uplifting event that did so much more for myself than what I could have done for those kids. A must repeat.
I was privileged to visit one of the orphanages this past weekend. The kids were amazing! They were full of love and very happy. I was so impressed with them, particularly given their circumstances. It's very apparent that their exuberance is a result of the support and nurturing given to them by the staff. I highly recommend this nonprofit to others for support and volunteerism.
I spent the day at La Esperanza Orphanage for a friend's birthday and it was amazing! Being with the kids and learning about how they live at the orphanage was great. I was so happy to know that I went with an organization that contributes so much to the lives of these children. Our group loved it so much, we will hopefully be going back in a few months to set up a music room for the kids at this home. Thank you so much to everyone from Corazon de Vida for all that you do!
I was really moved by how cared for and well kept these children were. The experience spending time with these beautiful little kids really hit home since I was once an orphan too; adopted from Paraguay. I hope to stay actively involved with this organization. Thank you so much for the heartwarming experience!
Having observed the work done in a house in Tijuana, as a public health scientist, I can state the fact that they have a formula in raising the children with a strong foundation. Needs assessment is done with a psychologist; they are provided their food, shelter and basic needs; above all, there's an emphasis in education.
Just an excerpt of my dialogue with a coworker:
Co-worker: These kids are so beautiful! You made it out alive, sure, but didn't one of them steal your heart?
Me: Why must you ask such difficult rhetorical questions?
Co-worker: Didn't you want to bring at least one back.
Me: *Nostalgic smile.* I did. Yes, I did. But that would be called kidnapping.
