Review for Just One Africa, Inc., Alpharetta, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had the privilege of joining Clay & Amy on a trip to Kenya with Just One in 2016. What an incredible opportunity to see first hand the impact Just One is having. We took water filters on a ferry to an island on Lake Victoria. As we arrived at the dock we saw children pushing the scum away and dipping their buckets into the nasty lake water to carry to their homes.
We unloaded 100 5 gallon buckets which were delivered by motor bikes to the location for the distribution. The community readily embraced the training on hygiene and water safety. It was easy to see just how impactful these filters were going to be. To add to the drama Amy took some cow dung and stirred it into the cloudy lake water, ran it through a filter and drank the crystal clear water in front of the crowd.
My wife and I have been making a substantial contribution to Just One for many years. We want to support small nonprofits willing to step outside the box to have a meaningful impact on the lives of people in need.
May God bless them and all those who participate with them.

I have known Clay and Amy since they were in grade school where I was their principal!
Finally got to join them on a trip to Kenya this June and see what the impact they are having.
Wow! It is amazing to see what a couple can do when they see the need and determine they can make a difference. One well at a school and orphanage changed so much for that community. They now have their own water, can sell water to the community and can irrigate their crops and grow 4 crops each year when normally only one crop is grown during the rainy season. They also provide all the vegetables for their orphanage and crops to sell in the market to fund their school.
The water filters given to families are having a tremendous impact on health and even saving lives. I have seen the water sources these communities have and clean water is a huge step forward for them.
What a privilege to partner with this effort and know how much they are accomplishing with the funds that are donated.
