Review for From the Heart Productions Inc, Oxnard, CA, USA
The name says it all: From the Heart.
For making it to the top 20 applications for a summer grant (yay) I was awarded a 15-minute phone call with Carol Joyce.
What a warm and enthusiastic person, full of interest, ideas, contacts and practical offers of help.
It’s rare to find an organization or person with so much enthusiasm and energy for mentoring creative work.
Thank you Carole! You rock!
Review for The Hummingbird Project, Cleveland, OH, USA
The Humming Bird Project is a fantastic and effective non profit, not least because it is small, flexible and exquisitely focused on what it knows best: Soil and Seed, and nature's food cycle. Openhearted and charming founders Marilyn McHugh and Chris Kennedy have the ability to teach diverse groups of people--young/old, educated/uneducated, farmers and city dwellers--about the amazing complexity of the soil food web. Not only do Chris and Marilyn facilitate educational workshops about soil, seed and regenerative growing practices, but as scientists they also test, analyze and offer solutions for problem soil. In addition, they offer assistance to farmers wishing to transition from toxic chemical inputs to organic methods. We have interviewed Chris and Marilyn for our film in production about the life of Dr. Vandana Shiva. Over a three year period of meeting with The Humming Bird Project in India, we have witnessed first hand the powerful impact this organization has on people's lives.
