I've been working with Carole Dean and Carole Joyce with From the Heart Productions for over ten years, on several different projects. This company offers a ton of resources, I've learned so much from Carole's classes, her book and all of her articles, as well as her podcast. She is truly an expert in the field, and always brings in phenomenal guest speakers and teachers. What really impresses me is the amount of personal attention I have gotten from both Carole Dean and Carole Joyce. Despite how many filmmakers they work with, I'm always able to get one of them on the phone or get an fast response whenever I need something for a project. My consultations with both of them have been extremely helpful. I highly recommend From the Heart to any independent filmmaker trying to make their film a reality.
AMERICA ESTABLISHED ALL WORLD CINEMA since the 1930’s: by Guro Khalid Khan. Carole Dean’s FROM THE HEART PRODUCTIONS, Hollywood, California. Get cinema history and funding help from Carole Joyce and Carole Dean's non-profit movement. Since the 1920’s America designed all the Engineering, and over the years all the major Aesthetics of story-telling and camera movements of Cinema. Orson Welles, John Ford, Darryl Zanuck, others, and most of
all Josef von Sternberg who came forward with the idea of background detail and light and shadow play upon objects and upon the actors as they moved.
TECHNICAL DESIGN:
The celluloid film camera, the film camera lenses, the celluloid film (the color film negative by Eastman Kodak, Color by De Luxe, Technicolor, Pathecolor, the black & white film negative by Ilford). Of course, America gave this technology of cinema to the all the societies interested in film-making in the rest of the World to help them develop their own films and genres.
THE STORY-LINES:
The action film story-lines of the Japanese, the European, the Hong Kong, and the Indian Cinema were also copied from stories written by American writers and transplanted to their local cultures. All the samurai film story-lines and the Italian western story-lines and the European secret agent story-lines are derived from the novels written by American detective novel writers Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Mickey Spillane and others from the 1930’s era onwards. The perpetually song & dance romance films of Bombay cinema has roots in the predominantly woman heroine based films of Max Ophuls from the 1930’s.
In America, the burlesque cinema was authentically created by the genius of Russ Meyer.
THE DIFFERENT GENRES OF WORLD CINEMA:
The European secret agent genre of OSS 117 and Kommissar-X Agent Joe Walker are based on
Post World War II history. The OSS during WWII was predecessor of the CIA.
OSS 117 played by Kerwin Mathews, Frederick Stafford, and John Gavin. The “Commissioner-X” series was written by New York police officer named Bert Island. The two hero actors of the
Kommissar-X Agent Joe Walker series played by American body-builder Brad Harris and by Tony Kendall.
The Italian western has storylines copied from American films Vera Cruz, Treasure of the Sierra Madre and other American cowboy films of earlier era. The theme music has always
same guitar or similar tune of “Ghost Riders in the Sky” by 1940’s American guitar player Stan Jones, the creator. The legendary spaghetti western founders from Italy were Guilano Gemma and Anthony Steffen, Tony Anthony, and other notable Italian and German actors.
The Hong Kong Kung Fu cinema was single-handedly founded by American martial arts teacher
and performer Bruce Lee. Before Lee, the Hong Kong Kung Fu cinema existed with
other star performers but Bruce Lee put China on the map.
CIVIL RIGHTS AND FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION:
Cinema establishes a forum on which a society can discuss the status of Freedom of Speech
and of Civil Rights for citizens, and guide other cultures in same. Cinema establishes
a free speech coalition. Any country that does not Civil Rights, for example all Middle East
countries, they have no cinema.

If there was such a thing a six stars - they would have it!
My goodness I need more than 5 Stars to express the quality of my new friend, family. Carole Joyce is a wonderful person, amazing woman with a beautiful heart. It all started with me leaving a message at "From The Heart Productions" She called me back with open arms and a big hug so welcoming. That is something I haven't felt in a very long time and it felt wonderful to know there are kind people still out there in this crazy world and I found one. Being around her energy and genuine kindness has now lead me to others just like her. I am so excited and Blessed. Like I said "Five Stars" is not enough.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with From the Heart Productions since 2011. Over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand the tireless dedication Carole Dean and Carole Joyce bring to serving independent filmmakers through education, coaching, and funding support.

Carole Joyce offered very valuable advice that helped me get my Directorial debut on PBS stations nationally, and I have found the bi-weekly classes to be transformative with my filmmaking practice.
The support that I have received from both Carole Joyce and Carole Dean has been amazing! They have opened doors, provided direction and contacts that have been invaluable. It's much appreciated and has made this journey a very memorable one!

Hi, this is Hasan Demirtas, I am an independent filmmaker from Turkey. In 2014 I got accepted at Northwestern University for my master degree so before I went to the USA I already knew about
From the Heart Productions. From the Heart was sponsor for my documentary feature film You Name It. You Name It went to many film festivals and got award from Collected Voices Film Festival for best documentary feature film. Then From the Heart Productions granted me for my first fiction feature film Separation. Separation selected at 77th Salerno International Film Festival in 2023. That was great moments for me... Being at one of the best film festivals in the world is a great feedback for my cinema art. And From the Heart Productions was always with me at my good times and bad times...
From the Heart Productions is trying their best for the filmmakers. Lastly, my fiction feature film Separation got into 24th Annual Phoenix Film Festival in the USA! From the Heart Productions and us will be at the 24th Annual Phoenix Film Festival. Thank you From the Heart Productions. Please the fragman of Separation http://demirtashasan.com/separation.html
I’m overwhelmed with the creativity that flows through From The Heart Productions and its filmmakers.
We are so blessed to be helping filmmakers with fiscal sponsorship for over 30 years.
Every donation for every film is so filled with joy and love and gratitude.
God has wrapped its arms around us and the wonderful people that support From the heart, and help us along the way.

From the Heart Productions has been spectacular. Imagine having a vision for a project and the only challenge you face is funding- From The Heart Productions mission provides a solution to that challenge.
Their entire team is focused on helping everyone involved with a project having the resources they need to succeed.

5 stars for sure
I was tearing myself between doing a series on my story Four Years On Foot or starting my sports startup Race Match. I decided to go to SF Bay to do a startup and forget for a while about production because it's not possible to do both. Carole Dean and Carole Joyce, the creative ladies behind the From the Heart Production, proved me wrong. It is possible! Sports project with the story behind it - what could be more interesting to work on? The From The Heart Production helps me to merge all my projects into one storyline to market all of them at once. I feel good following their advice, they inspire me. Something interesting is coming.
This organization has been coming in back and forth with me, giving me some advise and talking through with me about a project I have been working on for a while and I’ve been grateful for their support for it. Hopefully I can be able to live up to their expectations and move on forward to the future.
I haven’t the words to express what From The Heart Productions has given to me as a filmmaker, but let me try , unyielding encouragement and support, kindness and generosity with their knowledge, expertise and wisdom. Carole Dean, Carole Joyce and their entire team that surrounds this Non - Profit loves film making and the filmaker, we feel it , Its tangible. This feeling of not being alone or lost helps move us forward with the courage it takes to tell and make our story’s come alive as storytelling filmmakers.

It's hard to say too much about FROM THE HEART PRODUCTIONS. Carole Dean, Carole Joyce, and their whole team are the most supportive group of filmmaker advocates I have ever run across. Their fiscal sponsorship and awards support for my new narrative short, "STAIRWAY TO THE STARS" (www.stairwaytothestarsfilm.com), was instrumental in launching a successful film from conception to completion in record time. I'm looking forward to working with them on our Made-In-Hawaii feature, "SHIPMENT DAY" (www.shipmentdayfilm.com), and urge all filmmakers to join in supporting this fantastic and dedicated organization. They are the real deal.
As a board member of From The Heart I love working with filmmakers and witnessing their dreams become reality as they make their dreams come true by making their films.

The whole team at From the Heart Productions are very professional and so helpful. They are so helpful in getting indie filmmakers get film funding. Also helping creative artists, musicians, and authors. Carole Joyce takes the time to answer questions or concerns and is very knowledgeable about the whole process! I absolutely love this non profit and will include them as a non profit and any events to help them!
Working with From the Heart Productions, Inc. is such a blessing! Their genuine appreciation for the importance of my film "Saving Jaguars and Ourselves" and encouragement, combined with their real concrete ideas, suggestions, and valuable real-life connections is a huge boost to my ability to finish my film on time and can be a huge help to my budget. Their network on contacts and donors is extensive. I am excited about the collaboration opportunities presented! It is clear how much From the Heart truly cares about filmmakers, films, and making a difference in the world!
Carole and her team were (and continue to be) an incredible resource and asset to filmmakers. I was walked through the best strategy step-by-step and everything felt personal. Carole took her time to make sure I understood the best options, nothing felt rushed, and I was even introduced to other great connections. Highly recommended.
What an amazing group to work with! The From the Heart Production organization bends over backwards to help filmmakers reach their goals through education, fundraising fiscal sponsorship and personally assisting you when needed. I love working with the entire team.
From The Heart Productions & Carole Joyce have been so amazing to work with. They are so helpful individually and personally and also provide so many resources for filmmakers. The resources are endless- classes, podcast videos, grants- the list goes on. As an indie filmmaker, it’s so nice to have someone that also believes in you, inspires you, and even helps you. From The Heart Feels like a filmmaking angel, and I am so glad I met them and are now working with them. I only have good things to say about them!!
Carole is such a wealth of information! She was generous with her time and resources today.
What a wonderful teacher and person to have as support. Thank you Carole!
I have been in contact with Carole and her team for almost 20 years now. She truly cares about filmmakers achieving their dreams and gives them the tools to do it. In an industry where making your films can seem impossible, Carole Dean makes you feel like this is truly within reach. Because of her class I have made the most powerful contacts and am poised to go into production on my feature film project this year. The challenges of making your film are truly about having the confidence and going for it. From the Heart helps build confidence, skill, and your circle of contacts. You have to put in the work but if you are determined From the Heart Productions can be a guiding light. From the Heart will help you achieve your cinematic goals. Highest recommend!
Have been fiscally sponsored by From the Heart only for a few weeks now, but am already appreciating the actionable tasks and knowledge I have received as well as the positive energy that streams through my interactions with them. Can't wait to see what the new year is going to bring through our partnership!
Carole Dean and her team at From The Heart Productions offer independent filmmakers exceptional support for their projects. They continue to expand the resources they provide to include public webinars, film funding guidance classes, radio interviews, and books, along with the invaluable Roy W. Dean Grant, now in it's 30th year. This is an organization that truly supports filmmakers from beginning to end of their projects, and always 'from the heart'. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

It was the invaluable support of Carole Dean and her team at From The Heart Productions that made it possible for Pictures of Infinity, my documentary film project, to go into production. Winning the Roy W. Dean grant was phenomenal and yet it was just the beginning! The wisdom, guidance and support of Carole and her team has made it possible to overcome each of the many obstacles along the way. There is no other organization I know of that cares this deeply about filmmakers and offers such exceptional support for their projects. Thank you Carole, Carole Joyce, Shirley and team beyond words for this great service to us all.
I've been working with From the Heart for close to a decade on many different projects. From the Heart always provides the highest level of support, and has a ton of incredible resources for independent filmmakers. Carole Dean is truly an expert in the field of Film Funding, and genuinely cares about the filmmakers she works with. Carole Dean's and Carole Joyce's mentoring and consultations have been invaluable to me as a filmmaker. I can't recommend From the Heart highly enough!
Two from the heart! Carole Joyce and Carole Dean are the forces behind a wonderful organization that’s truly dedicated to helping filmmakers get their films to the finish line. The staff at From the Heart Productions are quick to respond to phone calls and emails. The long-established organization continues to move with the times and strives to connect the filmmaker with the latest trends in fundraising and outreach. From the Heart constantly educates and pushes its filmmakers to strategize and use the latest tools to their advantage. Phone consultations with Carole Joyce are genuine, informal and incredibly helpful. Carole wants to help you get your film funded and will help you figure out how best to do that. In my experience Carole gave me more time on the phone than what was initially offered.
Working with From the Heart has been an excellent experience. They do care about filmmakers. They give excellent service. They have many classes and blogs that help filmmakers.

From the Heart Productions is passionately dedicated to the craft of filmmaking and helping artists unearth all the possibilities of getting their projects funded and produced. FTH has been our Fiscal Sponsor for at least a few years and every exchange I’ve had with Carole and her team has been of the utmost professional, kind and helpful. They are consistently available to answer my questions right away and it’s always a delight to speak to them. FTH truly cares about their community and their hearts are in the right place- to bring to life unique, artistic contributions that are making a difference. It’s an honor to work with them and I applaud the wealth of knowledge and experience they bring to the table.
From the Heart Productions has the words, "From the Heart" because truly, Carole Dean and her staff do everything from their hearts. Carole has been my fiscal sponsor now for over seven years. One would think, with this long of a relationship that she would have given up on me and my project. But nope! She is still teaching, leading, guiding and mentoring me. I know that if I have questions or concerns, she will answer me as soon as possible. Her wealth of knowledge about the film industry is astonishing. Her guests on podcasts, books or blogs she has written, or books and other materials she leads us to - is an absolute must for anyone who is serious about being a filmmaker - Indie or otherwise. If there was a way to give a 100 stars, I would as 5 stars honestly just doesn't do her justice. She is a woman with a heart of gold; love for those she sponsors and for this business in general. I can say, "Thank you," a million times and it still wouldn't seem enough. I am looking forward to the upcoming Intentional Filmmaking class and every other bit of knowledge I can gain from her. Thank you, Carole and to your amazing staff as well.
I am a first time filmmaker who has been working on a personal documentary for 8 years. It is a marathon. And along the way, you learn a lot about your own endurance. From the Heart Productions has a lot of great and timely resources that are accessible, especially the free webinars that have relevant topics and speakers. You burn out and feel discouraged often and one of the big topics you waiver over is funding and faith. Today's webinar - "Goal Setting—How to create financial abundance for your film!" was crucial for me to hear today. I immediately am working on some of the actions suggested. Having a community of like minded people working towards the same goals, and that have experience working in the filed makes a huge difference when you feel like you are working on such an abstract plan of making a thought a reality. I would recommend tuning in and reviewing the resources to any filmmaker.
From the Heart Productions is an anchor for independent filmmakers who need guidance to raise funding to produce their movies. With so many years of experience and such a wealth of knowledge, Carole Dean is a person you want on your team. There are so many benefits in becoming fiscally sponsored with FTH. There are all the tutorials and podcasts, bi-monthly zoom classes, and so much more.
I applied for but did not win the Roy W. Dean Grant. I received wonderful feedback, however. My film is an animated/live-action musical with a budget that exceeds the grant limit, so I understand the decision.
I have been working with From the Heart Productions and Carole Dean for several years now. They have been supportive, generous with their time and have given me workable strategies to achieve my film fundraising goals. But maybe as equally as important, they have given me to confidence to know that I can make the money for my film. I have produced a promotional short with another on the way. I am on the way to producing a feature film with the complete confidence that it will happen and be great.
I was at a standstill with my creative film idea, finding From The Heart Production re-opened the doors to move my film idea forward again. I have been able to work on my project daily and make progress, and not only with my project, but also, moving my mind and whole self forward. Thank you for your guidance and re-opening my doors. Ms. Kubes
From the Heart and it's "grants" and "consultations" are a total SCAM! Aspiring filmmakers, please DO NOT waste your money on applications. From the Heart took 3 MONTHS to respond after the Grant Deadline and offered very little advice.
During my consultation, Carole could not recall any correct information about my film, letting me know that my project was not reviewed properly. She also failed to meet with me at our scheduled time. Carole was incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful.
I recommend looking elsewhere for Grants and distribution advice. Carole did not take any time to read the materials I prepared and put in little effort to learn about the project. She is just looking for you to apply and pay the fee. DO NOT support her.

We are very sorry for your experience. I can assure you this is not typical at all as attested to the many 5 star reviews we get for these consultations from filmmakers We are one of the only grantors to offer consultations and are dedicated to show filmmakers our appreciation for the hard work they've put into their projects by helping them move forward. If you would like to schedule a new appointment, please email us at info@fromtheheartproductions.com
Our Film When All That's Left is Love has won over 40 awards, over 100 film festivals, over 6 major medical conference screenings, got a sales agent and beginning a successful community engagement screening tour and NONE of this would have been possible with out the entire team from the heart- we love you ms. Carole Dean, little Carole and amazing Shirley....thank you thank you thank you for helping me grow as an ARTIST. Love E
I cannot emphasize enough what a blessing of support, wisdom and guidance is that From the Heart Productions provides for us aspiring newbie filmmakers and storytellers. I am soooo grateful to have met them and have had an absolute pleasure getting to know them and work with them. Carole Joyce is a genuine gem!!!!!! She is brilliant, creative, resourceful, innovative, compassionate, kind, bright-hearted, thoughtful and wise!!! I came to them absolutely overwhelmed and lost about how to get started on my very long time dream to be a story teller, but Carole helped me map out the blueprint and road map for my journey to fulfilling my dreams. And every step of the way has been executed in a professional and timely manner, and with Carole and From the Heart Productions on my side, my confidence and inspiration is overflowing with humble gratitude to have a partner like them by my side!!!! Love you From the Heart!!!!
From the heart productions run by Carol Dean and Carole Joyce, has to be one of the best introductions I have ever made. Being a Canadian non profit they have lent expert advice and has became our fiscal sponsor. They have helped us promote ourselves in the USA as well as introduce invaluable people across the entertainment industry. This duo truly work from the heart. They are always positive and ready to help solve issues big or small. I would recommend anyone starting a non profit to be mentored by them. They deserve all the praise and more. Sincerely, Judy founder of one world filter foundation.
From the Heart Production is one of the most trustworthy reliable non profits that I have seen, the leader in truly helping you realize your goal. I have had my projects with them for quite a few years and can’t imagine not ever wanting to work with someone else but with From the Heart! The have so much information to offer filmmakers just starting out, hundreds of resources!
It is my honor to post a positive review for FROM THE HEART PRODUCTIONS, INC. I've been directly dealing with Ms. Carole Dean & Ms. Carole Joyce in relations to my new Olympic film, CHILDREN OF CHAMPIONS. It's been such a rewarding professional experience. I felt supported, communicated with, and most importantly I felt that the organization is here to really help me with my filmmaking process. Thank you; I'm grateful.
“From the Heart Production” is one of the few nonprofits in this business that really helps young filmmakers and navigates them through the maze of the very complex process of financing your creative protect. My husband and I are a screen writing team and we have been relying on Carole Dean’s expertise for the last three years.
We are voting for this nonprofit wholeheartedly!
Carole Joyce and Carole Dean are thoughtful and caring mentors that really care about the filmmaker. They are well respected in the local community and very kind to everyone they meet.

Aros Crystos!
What From the Heart Productions does for filmmakers is nothing short of extraordinary. Carole Dean truly works from her big and generous heart and is always available and responsive. The team creates a unique mix of practical knowledge of the film industry with motivational strategies along with that spiritual inspiration that enables filmmakers to push through the deep, dark and lonely night of the independent film fundraising world. I doubt there is another organization like it. Their team will work with you and your film's individual needs to guide you toward the most successful avenue for your film. Through the work I have done with this organization, I have created a film package that I am 100% confident I will fund within the year.
The Amazing Carole Dean and From The Heart Productions, a heartfelt review
When in need of funding and film making advice, the best go to person we know is Carole Dean and From The Heart Productions.
As a filmmaker, I want to know there is someone who believes in my work and supports that work. Because Carole believes in the individual filmmaker and understands the intensity of the work, both in the monetary costs of making a movie and the personal dedication it takes to bring a story to life through images and sound, she dedicates herself to helping every filmmaker achieve success, to bring their story to the screen (large or small), and above all she dedicates herself to the process of film making, and the individual's creativity.
Carole’s years of experience and dedication have proven to be invaluable. She cares for the creative filmmaker in so many ways. She gives her full attention to each filmmaker that shows initiative, has a well written story to tell, and is in need of professional help and guidance. Carole’s wealth of knowledge and information allowed us to tap into resources and funding we were not aware of. Her knowledge helped guide us around the many pitfalls that might have halted our production.
Thank you, Carole and From The Heart Productions for all you’ve done for us and so many other filmmakers.

If you are a filmmaker (except for a documentary filmmaker) and have or are considering applying for a Roy Dean Grant (From The Heart Productions) you should know the facts regarding this organization BEFORE you apply.
98% of the films awarded a Roy Dean Grant in the past 5+ years have all been ‘documentaries’ despite thousands of short, narrative, Web/TV applicants that have applied from around the globe. Despite the fact that this organization boasts about the great things it has does to support filmmakers of all kinds, and aims to support outstanding films, it has misled earnest filmmakers into believing they actually have an equitable fighting chance of being considered for a grant.
The fact is applications are accepted worldwide - including from countries that offer truly generous subsidies to artists of all kinds that the U.S does not offer. The reason? The more applicants, the more application fees they collect.
Soon after applying, you’ll receive emails from Carole D., the President, who, despite your film not being selected, announces that she has GREAT news — she has a solution to your funding problem — BUY HER BOOK and better yet, sign-up for HER CLASS and she’ll teach you how to get your film funded!!
In addition, if you wish her organization will be your fiscal sponsor (naturally so they can collect more fees from those who will donate to your film). You’ll be invited to speak with Carole for 15 minutes (ultimately a sales pitch) where she’ll discuss what the judge determined was wrong with either your project, or application, but don’t fret good filmmaker, bravely carry-on and apply again (AND AGAIN) because that is what most filmmakers do!
Filmmakers we know who have applied for a RDG, and received their 15 min. film/application ‘review’ also received some of the most ridiculous (laughable) reasons their film/application was eliminated (probably because it was NOT a documentary) — often over easily clarified, minute oversights made by their (novice) judge. We’re talking applicants who are professional filmmakers who have spent years on the front lines doing the heavy lifting it takes to make films (not novice students). Adding insult to injury while listening to the remarks, it becomes clear that the judge has never written or made a film in their his/her life.
Despite this organization’s altruistic boasting, earnest, hard working filmmakers are being misled due to the lack of transparency. And the sad truth is this is not a unique situation. The industry is chock full of bottom dwellers disguised as friends of filmmakers and writers who ultimately take advantage of them only to have books and/or expensive classes shoved under their noses.
Another troubling issue with this organization, ALL film categories / applications whether shorts, documentary, feature or Web/TV series are lumped into one big pile. This, in no way, is fair to filmmakers. A documentary should not compete against a short or Web/TV series.
If you bring these issues to the attention of the President, Carole D., you will most certainly NOT get a straight answer even when it is justifiable to question the reason(s) your application/film was eliminated. She will artfully turn it around in such a way that, you, the applicant are the cause of your project being eliminated despite evidence that clearly states otherwise. Even when it is a truly outstanding socially meaningful, timely project. Yup, folks, what a web the Roy Dean Grant organization weaves. Careful that you don’t fall into it. It is as one reviewer wrote, RDG is a facade.
Having undergone this process several times, and knowing others who have as well, we told Ms. Dean that she can judge but that it is no longer her prerogative alone. Consequently, after thoroughly reviewing the Roy Dean Grant / From The Heart Productions that claims to be a non-profit (although that is questionable) is deemed worthy of a grade “F”.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent interaction with the Roy W. Dean Grant. We are very sorry that you did not have a good experience. A major concern you expressed was having the short film you submitted judged against submissions of documentary, feature films, and web series. Please know that our board took your concern to heart. Beginning in 2021, we will have a new grant exclusively for short films. Expect something on our website by January. We are sorry too you felt the consultation you received on your grant submission was unsatisfactory. It is disappointing to hear as nearly all our reviews we receive from filmmakers on their consultations are extremely positive and mention the great help we provided. Please know that we send a monthly newsletter only to those who opt-in. We include stories on manifesting success, film funding, and our grant. We also send emails with discounts on our classes. Please opt out if you do not like the content or frequency.
All they really want is for you to pay your "processing fee" so they can then take your email to try and sell you Carole Dean's books, classes etc. Such BS. Having dealt with Carole, she hides behind 'grants' when what it turns out to be is a total SCAM. And for your 'fee' you get a useless conversation about what was wrong with your 'story' or ' application'. More BS. Having submitted and won several grants over the years, and award winning scripts, I knew when it was 'disqualified' in just a few days from the time it was submitted that there was something fishy. A TOTAL waste of your time and money. Don't fall for it. She sounds sweet but it's all a showy sales pitch that some obscure film/documentary about bugs or flowers gets selected. No doubt friends of theirs.

richka 08/02/2020
We are sorry for what you felt was a poor experience applying for our Roy W. Dean Grant. We appreciate you as an artist and thank you for applying. We are very proud of the exceptional films chosen to win our grant over the last 28 years. Our judges need to make many difficult choices when reviewing submissions and we’re sorry you felt your rejection was hasty. Many of our applicants have told us that they get very useful information out of our consultations as well as our mailings. We are sorry your consultation did not meet your expectations.
Carol Joyce was an amazing Executive Producer and like me was SO detailed oriented! I have to thank you for helping me making the BEST memories. She has the most awesome team as well!
I just love this organization. They have so much useful information. They are so informative and they always help me find a new perspective to work from.
Sometimes people get it right. FTH Productions and their Roy W. Dean Film Grants are a great example of this phenomenon. The growth and progress of this nonprofit is beyond inspiring. Led by innovator Carole Dean, this organization has embraced and championed what diversity is all about. I have witnessed their mission in action, their dedication to helping filmmakers complete projects and get them in front of audiences. For over 25 years, the Roy W. Dean Grant-winning films have garnered awards and truly made a positive impact on our world. Congratulations to the passionate independent filmmakers and kudos to Carole Dean, Carole Joyce, and From the Heart Productions!
I’ve been working as a board member with From the Heart Productions for over 27 years !
Every day we get phone calls from beautiful souls that have great visions and goals to create beautiful works of art !
We are full of gratitude when we get to help these filmmakers by becoming their fiscal sponsors.
Our greatest gift is to be a witness to this beautiful works of art that come from these little ideas that one day become award-winning films.
Carole Joyce with fiscal sponsorship with from the heart !
Hi there!
From the Heart Production is the heart beat.
Carole is an important part of all this new process for me. More importantly she is right there with you coaching one on one to get your script up and really out there. I always feel comfortable sharing with her , any question I have she’ll answer it.
Over the past few years, I’ve had the most difficult and challenging time making my first feature film. During these times I would often listen to Carole’s podcast as she spoke to industry professionals with questions and challenges that catered to Independent filmmakers. Her metaphysical, practical and spiritual approach drew me towards the organization and their services. I finally made the call in January 2020 to participate in their film funding class to finally learn and utilize all the tools and resources available to me! I’m having a blast, on a more focused mission, and learning new things already! Thank you to From The Heart Productions!
From the Heart Productions is truly a unique and special organization. I have had the honor to work with Carole Dean and Carole Joyce for over 5 years on a variety of projects and have had the most positive experience I could ask for. They are among the top experts in the world in the field of film funding, and provide a wealth of free resources, mentoring, education, and guidance. What truly sets From the Heart apart from any company I've dealt with in any sector is the level of personal attention and care they give to their filmmakers. They take the time to get to know you and really understand your project and your goals and work with you in a very involved and personal way. They deeply care about their filmmakers, love what they do, and dedicate themselves to helping their clients realize their dreams in a way that is exceptional and unparalleled. I can't thank From the Heart enough!
There really are no words to describe the gratitude I have for Carole Dean and From the Heart Productions. Winning the Roy W. Dean grant, the first one I received for my feature film, was just the beginning of a years-long wonderful relationship with Carole and the organization. She has changed my life with her beaming positivity, love and belief in me as an artist and in my film. Carole is truly one of a kind, and I believe anyone would be blessed to work with her and From the Heart. She is a multidimensional person, full of widsom, talent, knowledge and endless love for those she supports. Receiving support from Carole and her organization is one of the best things that has happened on my journey to make my film.
From the onset of meeting the two Carole's - Dean and Joyce, I was able to keep fighting the good fight regarding my film and TV project.
Inspiration, support and creativities have been most well received and I look forward to celebrating with the two unique leaders!
Thankful,
Bill Nolan - Creator of The Enlightenment Stories - Help Is On The Way
I had the pleasure to meet and collaborate with Carole Dean and Carole Joyce. They are fantastic, kind, hard working people. They believe in the people they help and all of their projects are very high quality. I feel really lucky I met them
From the get-go, From the Heart has been remarkably responsive and supportive, unlike any organization I have ever dealt with. Carole Dean’s core mission of coming from authenticity, vision, and heart is seemed into everything they do. They have remarkable integrity. They demonstrate that they care about my success through their actions, which feels great as an independent filmmaker. I feel so fortunate to have them as my fiscal sponsor!
Phenomenal organization. A professional non profit heart felt support to the art of filmmaking. Dedicated group of people that are inspired to employ social change and fantastic lives.
Carole Joyce and her Mom Ms. Dean are the Best. Their contribution to the film community is Amazing. They really care.
From The Heart Productions is a wonderful company who fiscally sponsors films. Carole Dean and her team go above and beyond to support filmmakers through their journey to get their films from concept to finished product. A distinguished author of a book on film funding, Carole is well-versed in the art of film funding and the many components of film-funding and gladly shares that knowledge. She attracts filmmakers who seek to make this world a better place through entertainment and meaningful documentaries.
I enjoy working with them in a support capacity and seeing all the wonderful finished products.
I love Carole Dean and From the Heart Productions. I met Carol on completely different business, she was looking for a Kangen Water machine and I am among other things a Kangen Water distributor in her area. When I met her she told me that she has been in the movie business for over 30 years and about her company From The Heart Productions. I told her I was working on my first film project as a producer on a documentary on the Negro Baseball Leagues called The Untold Truth. www.theuntoldtruth.com
When I explained the project she loved the idea and not only gave us a fiscal sponsorship but has been consulting me with various issues that come up and has referred us to various professionals including our lawyer. She helped us with our donation landing page on our web site and I have already received lot’s of checks from her to keep the project rolling.
I have learned so much about fundraising from Carole and she has turned me on to some books and videos that have been real helpful to me. Her website is full of great info and her Saturday Morning calls have taught me a lot in a very short time.
Carole is a wonderful, smart, kind and compassionate woman and I really appreciate her and look forward to taking her to the premiere of our documentary when it gets done.
From the Heart Productions has been very hands. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping filmmakers get their projects funded and made.
Besides providing funding through the grant, they are also a fiscal sponsor which allows donations made to films they sponsor to be tax deductible. They also provide a weekly pod cast with discussions and training to educate and inspire film makers.

I have been working closely with Ms. Carole Joyce on a project & I can truly state the truth: she is an incredibly giving & nurturing individual. I approached From The Heart Productions with a project & not only did they see the value in it but have picked it up & are in the process of bringing it to fruition. I give them the highest recommendation humanly possible!!! They are truly a rare entity. Bottom line: they care about the filmmaker & their project!!! How many entities these days can honestly say that?
Looking earnestly forward to a long lasting relationship with From The Heart Productions. They are very, very special people. If you have the great fortune to work with them, that will become obvious rather quickly ;
From the Heart Productions has been very hands on and supportive as a fiscal sponsor. They offer weekly seminars and podcast for film makers and also make personal conference calls with film makers who they represent as a fiscal sponsor. They also encourage fundraising with Network for Good to help raise funding to complete production and/or post-production.
Always in the Art,

For my first documentary I was concerned about funding and where I would get guidance on how to finalize the project. With a topic like autism and such an important precedence I was hoping to find some mentors or guidance of some kind, but at first I didn't know where to find the right fit. After researching From the Heart Productions I realized they had so much helpful information and guidance available for filmmakers. I immediately applied for their grant and stated on the plethora of web content and shows they had posted online. Carol Dean was extremely helpful in guiding me through the grant process and even though we didn't get the first one applied for it eventually came through. This grant also launched us into many other creative relationships that have been very educational and productive toward the documentary. Carol takes careful time to help guide each filmmaker in the direction you need to find the answers that matter. Highly recommend checking out all of the online resources and applying for the grant. Take the pitch classes and refine all the skills needed to get the film into the hands of those who matter most!
The guys at FTH are patient, and really listen, and try very hard to give you a personalized treatment. It really feels like it's their personal goal to see your project through and accommodate requests, big and small.
I can’t say enough about the phenomenal support I’ve received as a filmmaker from this organization. From The Heart Productions has been my Fiscal Sponsor for a few years now - and I’ve consulted with Carole while developing my project. Carole’s knowledge and experience in the documentary film world has been invaluable. She’s always available to answer my questions and concerns and never fails to amaze me with the solutions she comes up with. You can’t go wrong working with From The Heart Productions.
From the Heart Productions provides a service found nowhere else in America - fundraising support and fiscal sponsorship for beginning filmmakers. Winners of their West and East Coast annual grants win not only cash, but in-kind services from a wide range of industry professionals in lighting, sound, camera and ancillary businesses, which increase the budding filmmakers industry network. Our film won the grant award in 2012, which allowed us to finish post-production on a documentary that went on to win multiple awards and inspired the creation of numerous regional agricultural programs. With their fiscal sponsorship, giving us the umbrella of a non-profit status for donors, we were able to build a national social action campaign that ultimately impacted the lives of thousands of military veterans transitioning into organic farming, and the communities they serve. From the Heart Productions serves as a champion of independent filmmakers, and as noted by Plato many centuries ago, "Those who tell the stories shape the society." With increasing corporate consolidation of all media, independent filmmakers plays a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of our nation. From the Heart makes that dream possible.
All film fiscal sponsor non-profits are not created equally! I learned this through trial and error. When the extremely in-experienced staff at another film fiscal sponsor said they'd never heard of our Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning DP or the blockbuster films he had shot, I decided it was time to move to a more expert organization. My producer introduced me to From The Heart Productions, who were very capable of assessing a proposal, story, budget and roster of experienced personnel. Most importantly, From The Heart recognizes the merit of a project, and the very humbling responsibility that a filmmaker has in presenting a life-changing documentary. The name of this non-profit says it all!
Carole Dean had decades of professional experience in the film industry herself, and wanting to give back, she created From The Heart. She and her team at FTH Productions, Greater Los Angeles, have now had decades of non-profit experience. The depth of their understanding, extensive professional connections to industry personnel and services, and most importantly, an ability to problem solve and think 'outside the box', are assets that filmmakers and donors appreciate and recognize. I felt I had entered an oasis; a community of filmmakers whose vision and talents and their mission to make this world a better place, was valued, nurtured, and supported. We are a giant step closer to fulfilling our mission, thanks to Carole Dean and her team at From The Heart Productions. Thank you!
From the Heart Productions is the fiscal sponsor of our documentary, The Weight of Honor. But more importantly Carole Dean, president of FTH has been the champion, mentor and all-around cheerleader of our film. Carole has always been there to answer my many questions as we've moved through production and, now that The Weight of Honor is completed, she continues to advise us on distribution and outreach.
Previous Stories
From the Heart Productions and its director, Carole Dean, have been a tremendous help in getting my documentary film produced. FTH is my fiscal sponsor, which has made it possible for me to apply for and win grant applications. Carole is an incomparable resource for information about filmmaking and as a support system, too.
Things didn't start happening for our modest production company until we were awarded a Fiscal Sponsorship from From the Heart Productions. Then everything fell into place. From the Heart is an amazing organization and I highly recommend any aspiring filmmaker check them out. They offer quarterly grants that offer thousands of dollars in cash and production services. Carole's "The Art of Film Funding" is a must read for raising money for film productions. And their Fiscal Sponsorship allows filmmakers to raise funds and possibly acquire other corporate sponsorships, such as product donations for independent, low budget productions. The entire staff is absolutely amazing to work with--super nice, total professionals--who really want you to succeed. From the Heart has been absolutely essential to my success and I could not have done it without them!!
I applied for a short film grant from From the Heart Productions. First of all, there are very few grants for short films, making it quite difficult to break into the directing field. From the Heart is offering an opportunity for filmmakers that has the capacity to jump-start careers.
While we didn't receive the grant, we opted to receive feedback on our submission, which was invaluable. I received a phone call in which I was given advice on how to improve my submission, other places to apply for money for my film, and tailored suggestions for how to go about making my way with the film. I highly recommend From the Heart to other filmmakers and I intend to continue applying to future rounds of the grant.
From the Heart Productions, Inc., under the leadership of Carole Dean, has been a key supporter of independent filmmakers like myself for decades. Their grants are frequently the first money and support given a project--which is always the hardest to get and which then can make getting support later from other organizations easier. They continue to offer support services throughout the life of the project--from fiscal sponsorship, pitching, funding and other training classes, to plain old moral support and encouragement along the long road of indie filmmaking. There isn't a better partner for filmmaker than From the Heart Productions, Inc. and Carole Dean, who truly gives "From the Heart" it's heart.
Wow! What can I say except, Carole and her staff are truly amazing. From The Heart Productions have been my Fiscal Sponsor for a few years now. Carole never tires of hearing from me, nor is she too busy to respond. Her countless videos, her books, workshops, podcasts, the extraordinary amount of endless hours in helping Indie filmmakers, she is truly an amazing, caring lady! I think her actual concern about our success is what sets her apart. She truly does care and she is brilliant. Her experience and knowledge of the film Industry is phenomenal. You will not go wrong in joining with From The Heart! Carole, thank you!

I was promised consultation for my project when it was rejected but never received it. I tried contacting everyone involved, and almost was in a position to receive the feedback after weeks, maybe months of persistence. But the few times I was close, there was always an excuse as to why I cannot receive the consultation and to try again the following week. I found myself trying again for several weeks since, only getting voicemail and leaving dozens of messages that never received a response.

We are very sorry for experience. It is very far from our norm as we schedule and conduct interviews 7 days a week. Carole Dean, president of From the Heart Productions would like to make this up for you by giving you 3 free consultations on your project. Please either email her at caroleleedean@gmail.com or call at 805-984-0098
A team with a long history of successfully funding and supporting filmmakers. The offerings of various grants throughout the year makes our organization a very attractive funding source. Not only are our grants an option, we also fiscally sponsor filmmakers and have been doing so for many years. As an organization our focus is on ensuring our clients reach their goals. We manage very closely and conservatively our operating funds so as to offer reasonably affordable services to our clients. We take the time required to work with clients to help them complete their projects. It's not about rushing a client to completion. For us it's about making sure the client's project is viable, sustainable and able to reach their target audience.
I discovered Carole Dean and From the Heart Productions when I applied for a development grant for a documentary film idea I had percolating. Carole Dean called me personally to tell me that while I did not get the grant, she loved the film idea and my application and encouraged me to be in touch. After hanging up the phone I felt so grateful and moved by the care this woman took with me, I decided to share my feature film script with her, a project I had worked on for several years. I decided to apply for her Guardian Angel Program. Working with Carole weekly has been an enormous boost to my confidence and helped me further my growing film projects. Carole's presence, attention to detail, and experience are consistently expressed through her honest and encouraging words. She really SEES, listens, and guides with genuine kindness and intelligence. I am so happy I discovered From the Heart Productions and most especially, Carole Dean. My films are better for it.
From the Heart Productions says it all in the name, they truly are from the heart. The generosity, information and help you receive from day one, makes you feel like you have finally found your family, you are safe to go big and create, and are so taken care of and loved up! They have amazing materials on everything film and they offer such great education, guidance and help. When you call, a person answers and is helpful!! There hearts are really in the right place and I think Carole Dean is truly one of life's precious gems. Saying I am grateful for them is a massive understatement as they have helped me to fulfill my life's biggest dreams and because of that I get to work with my favorite people on earth!! I love my team and our extended family at From The Heart!
I have been mentored by From the Heart Productions for three years. They have been instrumental in the promotion of my television pilot project, "1 23...Infinity". I have received invaluable wisdom in areas of fundraising, finding an audience and social media promotions. The have also helped in finding my Director and other peers for collaboration. Carol Lee Dean, the President, is always available to consult and her direction and guidance always comes "from the heart"!
From the Heart Productions has given me the tools, resources, encouragement, and motivation to secure the financing for my socially conscious, independent feature film. Their Fiscal Sponsorship program has taken my film to a whole new level, opening up our project to government grants, as well as allowing our film to partner with like-minded non-profit organizations. Their Intentional Filmmaking Class was vital! Carole Dean's positivity, mindfulness techniques, and practical business savvy, has given me the confidence I lacked, to believe in myself, believe in my film, and believe in my ability to get it made.
Carole Dean is the president of this organization and the name "From the Heart" says it all. Carole is like a guardian angle to independent filmmakers. Her kindness and generosity are unmatched. She has seemingly endless energy to put towards her passion of helping filmmakers make movies that make the world a better and more interesting place. She makes time to carefully consider the work of even unknown filmmakers. And she gives them the benefit of her advice and wisdom to improve their work. I really can't say enough good things about Carole, her staff, and From the Heart Productions!
From The Heart Productions has been my fiscal sponsor for my documentary GENERATION ZAPPED. I raised over $1250,000 USD through them because donors want to do tax deductible donations. From The Heart has made timely payments. Not only I received fiscal sponsorship from them but also creative support. I strongly recommend this non profit.
From The Heart Productions offers Film Grants, Fiscal Sponsorship, Film Funding Courses, Private Consulting, and a Fundraising Platform to filmmakers who want to get their films made. Their team is helpful and friendly and their aim really is for your film to succeed. From The Heart awards three Roy W. Dean grants per year, which include a ton of film services for pre, production, and post, so the grant winner's project has the resources to get completed. This non-profit is truly focused on helping indie filmmakers obtain funding for their unique films.
I am Producer/Scriptwriter/author. From the Heart Productions, Inc. has been my fiscal sponsor for my short film, feature film, and children's chapter book for over the past seven years. I really like their on line feature for helping with fund raising. It is very useful.

I have been working with From The Heart Productions for several years - first as a member of the Carole Dean's group the "Intentional Filmmaking class". Following my second round in the class, From The Heart Productions became my Fiscal Sponsor on two of my projects.. I choose this non-profit as a Fiscal Sponsor among several others, for the intimate attention and hands-on designed advices each film and filmmaker are offered on their journey. Tools are tools but Its President Carole Dean, not only closely follows each filmmaker through their process but continually offers advice and alternative approaches to fundraising and distribution. The access to discounts on film services are also a huge plus! What I love the most about Carole Dean is her unorthodox, intuitive guidance about following the unbeaten paths facing all of us in this process.
The name says it all: From the Heart.
For making it to the top 20 applications for a summer grant (yay) I was awarded a 15-minute phone call with Carol Joyce.
What a warm and enthusiastic person, full of interest, ideas, contacts and practical offers of help.
It’s rare to find an organization or person with so much enthusiasm and energy for mentoring creative work.
Thank you Carole! You rock!
I had a phone call with Carole Joyce at From the Heart Productions where she gave me lots of practical advice for my documentary project. I applied for the Roy W. Dean Grant, and I think it's so wonderful that you get to talk to someone from the organization when you apply. That's not something that is offered by many similar organizations that I have been exploring, and I think it will prove to be very valuable for my project and my professional development. I really appreciate what From the Heart Productions does, and I hope that they will get to continue their important work for years to come.
I applied for From The Heart Productions' Roy W Dean Grant this spring. Although I was not awarded the grant, I spoke to Carole Joyce by phone and got feedback about how to improve my application. It's unusual that a granting organization will take the time to give that kind of attention to all of their applicants! I strongly believe in FTHP's mission to help filmmakers get the resources they need to create films that benefit all of us.
I first interacted with FTH when I submitted for their film production grant last year. Although, my proposal didn't end up working out Carole and her team were more than accommodating. They are seasoned, professional and generous.
I still remember the wonderful Documentary Trailblazer course I took eight years ago at From The Heart Productions, lead by its founder Carole Dean. It was a stepping stone in my path towards documentary filmmaking. Since then, Carole Dean has been a mentor and a great advisor in my film projects and a beacon and an inspiration all along. Soon after that course I started my latest film, SANDS OF SILENCE: Waves of Courage documentary film, which went on to win one of the Roy W. Dean Grants created by From The Heart. The grant was key to encourage others to contribute to a highly successful crowdfunding campaign allowing us to get the film ready for outreach and distribution. As we start to rip the fruits of our eight years of effort invested in this labor of love film, I cannot but feel grateful to Carole Dean and the From The Heart team for having been my first believers and having encouraged me to never give up.
As fiscal sponsor, From The Heart has sponsored two of my film projects as well as the non-profit projects stemming from my social issue films, such as The Masala Project, an income-generation project for sex-trafficking survivors in Nepal. As fiscal sponsors, they are reliable, agile, and prompt in delivering the funds they collect in my projects name.
From The Heart really exceeded my expectations by far.

My name is Leonardo Foti and I'm an Independent Film Maker. I'm truly honored to write this review in support of From The Heart Productions. The way they supported me as a film maker as well as my project is unlike anything I experienced in this business. Both Carole Lee Dean and Carole Joyce were extremely dedicated and helped me connect with key people in the business to further my project and opened up numerous paths to financing through their sponsorship program. I am grateful to have met them and to have joined forces with this wonderful organization, they really work FROM THE HEART!
I found "From the Heart" very supportive and most of all very informative in moving forward with my projects. They help you see the many options and avenues one has in order to get your project on the right path especially legally and support you thru the way. I highly recommend "From the Heart" .

At From the Heart, all of us are very sorry for the experience the previous writer had with our non-profit that resulted in so many misconceptions about us.
As a proud board member of this great organization, its clear we need to improve explaining who we are, how much we can do for filmmakers, and how dedicated we are to helping them get their films funded.
Founded in 1993, From the Heart is a certified 501(c)3 non-profit. We are registered with the state of California and the IRS. You can find our 990’s on Guidestar.
Our mission is to help filmmakers get their films funded. Through our Roy W. Dean Grant, we’ve given filmmakers over $2 million to date in cash and donated film services. Our fiscal sponsorship program aids hundreds of filmmakers yearly raise money by helping them win grants and giving their donors tax deductible donations. Our Intentional Filmmaking Class teaches filmmakers who are artists the ins and outs of how to get money for their films.
The film community is big, but credible information on our work and references abound. Perhaps it was difficult for them to find because we support so many “underdog” filmmakers. They’ve got unique projects that contribute to society that need to be told, but are facing funding obstacles. It could be either because of the content or lack of filmmaking experience. Many are years in the making.
But, to find out about our work, you can start by checking out our 23 years of grant winners at http://fromtheheartproductions.com/previous-winners/ We’re very proud of them and the awards many of them have won.
Check out our reviews from filmmakers http://www.genbook.com/bookings/slot/reservation/30184015/reviews/
Or, view all the films that we currently fiscally sponsor https://fromtheheartproductions.givecorps.com/
You can also check us out with Indiegogo. https://www.indiegogo.com/partners/fthp We were one of the first non-profits they contacted to partner with them. Since 2011, we’ve helped filmmakers raise over $2 million crowdfunding with them.
Founder and President Carole Dean is hardly unknown. She has devoted her life to aiding filmmakers in their efforts to get their films made. Before From the Heart, she invented an industry by buying back left over film stock from features then reselling it at a discount to independent filmmakers. This enabled many filmmakers in the 70’s and 80’s to actually get their films made.
She started From the Heart after seeing that the filmmakers she worked with had so much trouble and lack of experience raising money for their films. Using her own money, she set up the Roy W. Dean Grant and asked her industry contacts to donate their services.
Carole authored “The Art of Film Funding: 2nd Edition: Alternative Financing Concepts”. She was invited to teach at New York Film Academy and has appeared on film industry panels as an expert in film funding, independent filmmaking, and crowdfunding. In 2012, she received the lifetime achievement award from Women in Film and Television Showcase (WIFTS).
She also gives every fiscally sponsored filmmaker a free consultation. The project and materials are reviewed beforehand. Speaking with the filmmaker, Carole offers advice on improving their trailer, pitch, and outreach to investors or donors.
I've attached three videos and a photo just in case there is any doubt left at to who we are and our mission.
The first is a video of Carole Dean explaining the benefits of fiscal sponsorship with From the Heart.
The second is Carole Dean's acceptance speech for the lifetime achievement award bestowed on her by WIFTS.
The third is a video of Carole explaining how you can manifest money for your film. This is among the many video Carole has created for filmmakers which can be found at our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWewuxELt6nUDburbM_2PbQ
The picture is one of Carole presenting the Roy W. Dean Grant award plaque to winner Leslie Neale.
To all filmmakers and donors, as well as the writer who was unsure of what we did, check out our website at www.fromtheheartproductions.com. Please call us 805-984-0098 or email us at info@fromtheheartproductions or caroleleedean@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments about us.
We look forward to continue supporting independent filmmakers and helping them get their films made.

Review from Guidestar
I have done countless hours of researching From The Heart Productions and aside from their own website tooting their own horn, or a directory that lists non-profits without doing any real background investigating on them, I can't find not one lick of credible information on this company. I am however coming up with red flag after red flag. I am writing this to advise other filmmakers seeking fiscal support that this company can not be verified as legit, not with the Better Business Bureau, not with any filmmakers that I've asked, and I've asked hundreds, including communities of filmmakers. Not one lick of credible evidence. I am calling into question any website directory that lists them as a "great nonprofit" - how much research have you done on this outfit? I bet fist over dollar it's a scam. Who is Carole Dean? Why do none of the credible and established producers and directors I know have a clue who she is? All this company can do for you is giving you tips on how to crowd fund. And anyone who tells you to crowd fund for your film is telling to you act like a bum and beg your friends & family for their pennies. Scam! RED FLAG SCAM!
From the Heart productions, led by film industry legend Carole Dean, has been a powerful voice in the film industry for over 20 years. The Roy W. Dean Film Grant continues to put forth the most significant life-changing, culture-altering films anywhere in the world. This is one film grant that makes a difference in a positive way in our world.
From The Heart Productions has for over 20 years provided support for documentarians and filmmakers with projects that are unique and make a contribution to society. Their Roy W. Dean Grant has provided over $2,000,000 in film, film services, and production services to help projects get completed. Carole Dean, the president of From The Heart Productions, generously gives her time to judge each submission. She offers them help with words of support and tips to improve their project gleaned from years of experience in working with filmmakers. She takes a personal interest in each one. Some filmmakers submit their projects just to get some of her invaluable funding, script, and editing advice.
