Review for San Bernardino Mountains Wildlife Society, Lake Arrowhead, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a volunteer for this organization for about a year and a half. In that time I have been able to experience many things that I feel very fortunate to have been a part of. Sometimes, I help shovel snow or clean animal enclosure, which isn't always fun, but they are things that need to be done to keep the facility functioning. Other times I get to give some of the animals attention, which is for their enrichment, as well as mine. One of the animals I enjoy spending time with is Wiley the coyote. I take him on walks and help show him when the public is on site for a tour. He loves to get out of his enclosure and I feel very privileged to be able to spend time with him. The ranch is located in a beautiful mountain setting and the tireless administrative staff does a great job keeping the facility running smoothly. Of course, they can't do it all, and that is where the many volunteers come into play. I am proud to be one of those volunteers. Thank you for reading. Rodney Ninow

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build larger and new enclosures for their many permanent resident animals. Rebuild the eagle flight cage that collapsed during a recent snow storm. Pave the driveway and parking lot for better access to the staff and public. And many more things.
