I am writing this review as an organization on the receiving end of Mite’s support. I want to express my immense gratitude to Mite and its generous donors for their invaluable support of Shining Hope Farms' Therapeutic Riding program. Over the past year, our partnership with Mite has made a significant difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities in the Western Piedmont region of North Carolina.

The Therapeutic Riding program at Shining Hope Farms is nothing short of transformative. It offers a holistic approach to improving the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of our participants. Under the guidance of a certified therapeutic riding instructor, individuals engage in activities that enhance balance, coordination, and confidence while building a deeper connection with these incredible animals. What truly sets this program apart is the science behind it. The multidimensional movement of horses provides a dynamic base of support, aiding in trunk control, postural strength, and motor planning. Equine movement also stimulates sensory systems, enhancing coordination, timing, and sensory integration. It's a remarkable tool for improving the overall quality of life for those we serve.

Mite's support has been instrumental in making this program accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. By subsidizing the program's cost, Mite ensured that we could serve individuals who might otherwise have been unable to participate.

The impact of Mite's funding extends far beyond the riding arena. It helped us create a more inclusive community, where individuals with disabilities can engage meaningfully with their families, friends, and the broader community. By offering scholarships and keeping our fees low, we were able to bridge the financial gap that often burdens families caring for children with special needs.

Mite and its donors’ generosity was a lifeline for our program. This support allowed us to serve around 70 clients each week, fostering positive changes in their lives and promoting independence.

At the end of our year of support, Mite went above and beyond by coming out to our farm to film a "Celebration Video" that featured client family interviews and professional-quality video documentation. They have a true gift with storytelling. This heartfelt gift from Mite is a lasting treasure, allowing us to share the remarkable stories of our participants and the positive impact of their support.

In a world where financial challenges often hinder access to vital services, Mite stands as a beacon of hope. Their commitment to our Therapeutic Riding program at Shining Hope Farms has a lasting, profound impact on the individuals we serve. We cannot thank them enough.
