Review for ANGEL'S REST ANIMAL SOCIETY , Amelia, OH, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I moved into the Clermont County Ohio area about 4 years ago with my wife and 2 sons. We had previously fostered dogs where we use to live and wanted to continue doing so. My wife spent countless hours online trying to find a no kill shelter that would foster dogs. She came across Angels Rest Animal Sanctuary not far from our home. She contacted them and started the process. The last "rescue" we worked with were quick to drop off dogs with very few questions. Not Angels Rest! They wanted to make sure the animals best interest was served and not just "housed". We met with dogs with our kids and had a home visit. We were very impressed with the way things were handled by the folks there.

Our first forever foster was a large mixed breed senior named Emmitt. He was the most amazing dog of all time. He made a quick lasting impression with the entire family. Emmitt stayed with us for a year and a half. Every day that we spent with Emmitt was pure joy. He was my youngest sons best friend and that 1 dog of a lifetime. The 4 of us will carry Emmitt with us the rest of our days. His smiling face, his happy go lucky attitude and his 140lb lapdog love...

We have continued to foster over the last few years. We currently have 3 forever fosters in our home, all seniors. They are so happy when I wake up in the morning and even happier when I get home at night. Sure they all have their own quirks, what dog doesn't, but they're family to us. We have been so moved by the Angels Rest folks, mission, and founder, that my wife inquired about volunteering there. And that's exactly what she has done for the last 2 years. The people who work at Angels Rest don't do it for the money, recognition, or fame. It's about the animals! Day in and day out is for the "furry kids".

Angels Rest doesn't just take in every day dogs and cats. They take in the unwanted and abused. They seek out the sick and the abused, the problem animals. They are doing hospice care for these animals when people no longer will take care of "their" pets. I've personally seen dogs that aggressive towards men sit in my lap! That's the kind of help that these folks are doing for the animals. I'm proud to have my family associated with Angels Rest Animal Sanctuary, to me there is no better......
