I have been following Angel's Rest Animal Sanctuary for some time now and am very impressed with the way they treat the animals they rescue and how they get their funding. I will say that I fell in love with Lew and all of his antics! It' can't be easy being a non-profit and being called upon when shelters have animals that need a little extra care. I appreciate that they "specialize" in large breed dogs that often times are dumped - either at a shelter or just abandoned. They take in older animals, sick animals, animals that would most like be in danger and allow them to live out their lives knowing what it's like to be cared for and loved - no matter what the reason they would have met that danger. They provide comfort, medication, food and best of all - love for the animals remaining time on earth. While I am unable at this time to foster or adopt from them - I know that I can still help by donating. I have made several trips to the Thrift Store and Boutique to drop off items that I know would be of value to someone. I have shopped at the store as well - you just never know what you'll find.
