I have been a member of this organization for over 15 years and am truly inspired by its dedication and tenacity in freeing animals from the horrors of vivisection. While it advocates on many fronts, I am most impressed by its commitment to developing alternatives, a most pragmatic approach which shows the most promise to actually end this dreadful and debasing activity.

Without the Buffalo Field Campaign, the situation for buffalo in this country would be a lot bleaker. It is the only org that is actually in the field documenting what is happening to buffalo - the injustices these animals suffer because they need the grass and water that ranchers covet exclusively for their cattle. The org operates year round, from fall to spring when the buffalo are directly under attack, and during the summer does outreach to national park visitors. It has done more than any org to educate the public and Congress about the plight of buffalo in this country, and the need to preserve these iconic animals, symbols of the American west.

The Wildcat Sanctuary takes in abused and neglected big cats and provides them with an environment as close to that in nature as possible. If not for TWS these animals would have no other place to go and would most likely be put down. Caring for such large animals as wild cats is expensive and difficult, and is something that not many sanctuaries can do. TWS does an amazing job of making a success of such a difficult mission. The animals have large spacious enclosures so they can run and play. They receive any medical care required, no matter how expensive. They of course are fed on a daily basis, and we all know how the price of food has skyrocketed in the last few years. TWS deserves all the support we can provide, so it can continue with its difficult, but critically important mission.

BFC works year in and year out in all kinds of extreme weather to protect buffalo who are on the brink of extinction. If not for this group, much of the abuse heaped upon these hapless animals by government agents working on behalf of cattle ranchers would not be known. They are heroes in the real sense of the word.
