I am always impressed by the work AAVS does on behalf of animals, especially through education of the public and by encouraging the development of alternatives to the use of animals in research. But I have been even more impressed during this pandemic by the organization’s dedication to continuing its work behind the scenes, despite the difficulties — helping science teachers to make use of alternatives to live dissection as they adapt to online teaching; helping sanctuaries that care for animals that have been freed from labs; and continuing to pressure government agencies to live up to their responsibilities on animal policies.
AAVS’s does amazing work for animas, which also benefits humans. This work includes Alternatives Research, Cruelty-Free Shopping, Humane Science Education, and/or Sanctuary Support. I use the crudely free shopping app all the time.
The American Anti-Vivsection Society is a wonderful, long standing organization that does amazing work for the welfare of all animals. They research alternative methods for testing in medical laboratories to show that animals do not have to be used and abused in tests. These alternative methods provide much better data regarding humans and saves the animals from cruelty and death. They support sanctuaries and promote cruelty-free shopping and just recently won a court case for the welfare and protection of birds. I believe in them so much that I named them my charity organization on Amazon Smile. Keep up your wonderful work, AAVS. The animals and the public need you.
All animals have feelings and should be saved. No animal should be caged and experimented on.
They have the right to live and be happy.
AAVS is an excellent organization dedicated to helping animals who suffer and die in silence in laboratories. AAVS educates, advocates and saves animal lives!
AAVS is a fantastic organization that helps save animal lives and educates the public to the horrors of vivisection. I support AAVS 100%!
AAVS is an exceptional organization that works tirelessly to end the suffering of animals. Their education department, Animalearn, sponsors the Science Bank, which is a humane alternative to dissection and is available to students and educators alike. And their free Cruelty-free shopping app is my favorite phone app, as I can check for cruelty-free products as I shop! It's the best!
I support the AAVS because their work to improve the lives of all animals matters to me. They consistently fight to prevent animal cruelty and help educate the public about ways in which we can all pitch in to make a difference.
AAVS cannot be missed for the sake of the animals suffering in laboratories, an excellent organization!
AAVS believes in their cause and has an excellent team that works tirelessly at it. They are dedicated, honest, and trustworthy. They also are so helpful to members and people who may have questions. They are an organization that you can feel good about supporting.
I have been a supporter of AAVS ever since I first heard about them several years ago. They truly live out their mission statement. A reputable organization with integrity and a passion for what they do. You can feel confident when you donate to them that your money is going to actively reach the cause for animals.
This is one of my two favorite non-profits. I always loved how their in-depth articles provided lots of scientific information for addressing animal testing issues. Then, in the early nineties, I was president of the animal rights group at the college I was attending. I wanted to provide information to people to cause them to stand up for animals. Even though I contacted multiple organizations, most organizations did not provide a whole lot of help. But, AAVS provided buttons and an abundance of literature. They really care about helping animals, and they do it with science.
Then, years later, i took an additional college course in anatomy. AAVS helped me then too, to fight for an alternative to dissection labs. These are only two of the multiple times I reached out for help. They ALWAYS help. I can't say enough how wonderful I think this organization is.
I have followed and supported AAVS for years. Their mission is so important for the lives of millions of animals. I would suggest that anyone get to know them to understand the need to abolish cruel and ineffective vivisection.
AAVS funds alternatives to using animals in research; it helps support students who don't want to do dissection in their science classes; it promotes humane choices when we go shopping. I admire AAVS for all it accomplishes to help protect animals from harm. It is worth your support, too!
This loving non-profit helps children find alternatives to dissection, an unnecessary & cruel classroom practice if there ever was one. It also provides compassionate shopping guides for those of us who want to buy products that don't test chemicals on animals. A great organization to support!
I became familiar with AAVS years ago and have followed/donated ever since. I love how they fight to end animal testing and provide Humane Science Education and Alternatives Research.
I learned about the AAVS while researching ways to help animals used in labs. Their name came up everywhere. I subscribed to emails from them and visit their site frequently as well as looking into the things they do. All around, I’ve been extremely impressed. All the staff are passionate about what they do, and the emails help you make a difference for animals. The things they do are never to antagonize anyone, rather to persuade and encourage. I love helping animals, and so does the AAVS. Working with them was a great choice. Thanks so much, guys.
I am very grateful for the work of AAVS . They provide so much invaluable information to the public on the vivisection issue and ceaselessly advocate for the helpless and voiceless victims of this horrific business. I also deeply appreciate their campaigns and sanctuary work. I am always confident that my contributions will be well spent, as should other potential donors.
I Love this organization and its vital mission. It is so important that we show support for groups that have dedicated themselves to saving these animals from torture and lives of degradation and misery in the name of the False G-d of science.
AAVS is an organization that is true to its mission and never wavers in its dedication to end the use of innocent animals in laboratories. We have been supporters of AAVS for over thirty years and have named the organization as the beneficiary of our estate.
AAVS works tirelessly to end the horrors of vivisection. The organization has been a beacon of hope for all the millions of animals suffering in laboratories around the globe. I have been a supporter of AAVS for over thirty years and have named the organization as the sole beneficiary of my estate.
When I needed help with a large scale animal emergency, AAVS was one, of the only two, out of all of the animal welfare organizations I could contact, which responded with actual in person assistance! Also the AAVS Animal Learn program is unique and very important in educating the younger generations about how to be animal friendly in the future. I commend AAVS for their hard work and dedication to end animal experimentation and cruelty.
I've been an avid supporter of AAVS for about 40 years since i became active in Animal Welfare. We needed an organization to tackle, explain & debunk so many of the nonsense invasive experimentation being done on innocent animals. I was personally involved in engaging a member of Congress getting involved & having the GAO cut funding for an especially dubious research project being funded by our taxes.
One of the first Animal Welfare Advocacy Groups that inspired me to transform my anger into change and continues to be relavent in the present day.
AAVS brings the horrors and wasteful spending on useless experiments to the forefront.
This is an absolutely wonderful organization. They have done and continue to do so much to improve the lives of animals.
Wonderful caring people who are dedicated to making animals' lives better. I am proud to support this organization!
I commend many groups who are doing their bit to end animal suffering. This group pushes forward with legislative work to make the changes needed for animals trapped in unnecessary, wasteful, expensive and painful experiments. Thank you for doing the 'boots on the ground' work!!!!
We must support the non-profits for the voiceless that suffer needlessly for out-dated, barbaric systems. Thank you for all you do!
AAVS has been a steadfast advocate for the helpless and voiceless.
Their work is tireless and has accomplished much in the prevention of cruel and useless experimentation.
AAVS is a dedicated and determined advocate for the abolition of animal-based experimentation, exploitation and harm.
I am pleased to support AAVS as a sustaining member.
I became aware of vivisection from a school paper written by a friend years ago; it opened my eyes to the horror of what animals used in research go through. I found AAVS via a web search, and through them, learned about efforts being made to reduce and eventually end the use of animals in research labs. I have been a member and continue to participate in "Activate for Animals," their online program to encourage activism. They are a strong voice for the voiceless, an advocate for the hidden and forgotten, and a champion to those suffering at the hands of humans for the sake of research, when alternatives are available. Thank you AAVS for being the voice for those who can't speak for themselves.
I became aware of vivisection through AAVS and have been a member since 2002. They work tirelessly to end the use of animals in labs, education and research through the promotion of legislation, teaching and the creation and promotion of the use of animal alternatives. They bring awareness to the plight of animals in labs. I support their efforts to bring an end to animal suffering.
I admire AAVS because it never waivers in its commitment to animals. It helps animals on a day-to-day basis by providing teachers and students of all ages with alternatives to vivisection, by educating the public on how individuals can play a huge role in humane treatment of animals, by monitoring companies’ claims that their products are cruelty-free, and by helping to support sanctuaries that care for animals freed from laboratories. But it also takes the long view by working to change government policies, educating the public, and working with scientists to find alternatives to the use of animals in research.
I have been donating to AAVS for all these years because I believe in the work they do. They have helped countless innocent animals and they also brought animal awareness to the public.
The achievements they have made brought protection to animals in abolishing cruelty and needless suffering of unnecessary testing and experiments. Experiments that have been repeated over and over for years !
Go AAVS, you do fantastic work. We're right behind you all !!!
Such important work, for those with no voice. The importance of this organization cannot be overstated. I'm so grateful
I am so grateful to AAVS for their commitment to saving lives. Animals cannot speak up or defend for themselves, and AAVS makes sure that real change happens and innocent animals are protected. THANK YOU!!
AAVS has remained in the forefront for animal rights. Anti-Vivisection needs to be abolished and they have never waivered in the fight. Their educating the public and encouraging them to make their voices heard in 'citizen action' and supporting the vendors whose products are 'cruelity free'.
Aavs. Is one of the oldest org in fight to save and come up with alternate means of research wherein animals are not involved. Who ever said we had the authority to use and abuse animals, NO ONE. Stop now, not in future these animals can't wait any longer and aavs I believe looks to the day they will be no longer needed.
have donated to and followed this org. works for awhile and signed petitions, etc. and consider it a premier org for the challenging of the use of animals in testing, experimenting etc. and their goal of the complete abatement of animals used for testing of all sorts of items.the excellent informing of the public of alternatives for non-animal testing and how the public can obtain and use products of all sorts that were not tested for whatever reason on animals, here in the usa and wherever.
I like this group because it's goals are realistic. This country for the most part is never going to go vegan. It focuses on a issue that never should have been reality. That of volunteering the lives of those who cannot speak up and defend themselves for cruel and unnecessary torture for profit. If there ever was a need for testing animals, it's day is long past. There are many better and more accurate options now. Animal testing is only done because its cheaper and more profitable to the monsters who engage in it. I'd much rather give my money to AAVS then to any other group that talks big but commits it's own atrocities on animals or has foolish goals that take away from it's effectiveness.
AAVS is one of the few consistent advocates for eliminating experimentation on animals. The thought of using innocent animals for "research" and "experimentation" that has little if any benefit for humans is sickening. This organization has shone a light on the waste, cruelty, and inhumanity of animal sacrifice in the name of "science." They have also done so much to replace animal dissection with better alternatives in training and educational programs. I will forever be a donor to their amazing commitment and action.
Because AAVS protects animals from unconscionably egregious cruelty by scientists who are experimenting for medical benefits for human beings, and I love all animals, I have been a monthly financial supporter of AAVS during the past several years.
I have been a supporter of AAVS since college (many, many years ago). As it is said, a lab animal never has a good day. A majority of the research is unnecessary and cruel, done only for government grants, and is out of the public eye. AAVS brings these practices to light and offers alternative solutions for the unseen/unheard! The public is becoming more aware of unnecessary cruelty and standing up against it, but the work is far from done----money and 'tradition' is difficult to overcome. Keep up the good work, AAVS, and I hope more will join this very worthy organization.
AAVS is effective, and because of the respect it garners, it captures the attention of decision makers. The changes it has driven is invaluable educating others about alternatives to vivisection is priceless.
As the great Gandhi said, "The moral greatness of a nation can be determined by how its animals are treated." This can be said of not only nations, but corporations, and individuals.
The American Anti-Vivisection Society is an ethical, values-based organization helping our fellow animals. This organization recognizes that animals feel emotions, discomfort, hunger and thirst just as humans do.
It is our responsibility as humans to be stewards of living beings without voices to speak for themselves. As the great Gandhi said, "The moral greatness of a nation can be determined by how its animals are treated." Nations can be any organization or persons.
I support AAVS because they're effective and make a tremendous difference in the lives of innocent animals. AAVS makes significant achievements toward increasing protections for all animals, as well as abolishing the cruelty and needless suffering of using animals in "scientific testing."
Thank goodness that the Anti-Vivisection Society exists to advocate for nonhuman beings that are being used for medical research and subjected to pain, terror, and isolation. Their programs including Alternatives Research, Cruelty-Free Shopping, Humane Science Education, and/or Sanctuary Support make the end of antiquated vivisection viable. We can do better than tormenting beings in the name of research. Supporting the Anti-Vivisection Society can get us there.
I have been with aavs for years they stand for ending animal abuse ending animals in the Laboratories which is my pet peeve and we should abolish all animals in Laboratories this year and they're also on top of my list of being top rated
Thanks Worlds for being a strong, clear voice for the Animals.
Educating the public is no small task.
You do Good Work.
AAVS is one of the few organisations in the world who are seriously working towards ending experimentation on animals. Their work is precious and must be acknowledged and supported!
The mission of this AAVS is of great importance to those who are oppressed in laboratories around the world, where rarely any public scrutiny occurs. I admire AAVS's efforts in supporting the invention of alternatives to animal testing, which besides the moral battle against this cruelty is the practical way to help end it.
As a young woman in the 1980's, I came across this organization. I change my shopping methods, cruelty free only, advocacy for animal rights, eating healthier, and then raised my daughter the same way.
This nonprofit is very responsible and educating the public about animal experimentation that is unnecessary and cruel. They run campaigns that actually help animals locked in lives of lab experimentation and get policies and procedures changed. They improve animal lives and furthermore provide the public with honest information on this archaic practice of animal experimentation. Please support this important work.
My becoming aware of the act of vivisection was one of the key factors in my now 23 years of vegetarianism. To quote the great George Bernard Shaw, "Vivisection is a social evil because if it advances human knowledge, it does so at the expense of human character." That quote, like the AAVS, puts principals, morals, and ethics in the driver's seat. I respect that. They not only look to end vivisection but they offer sensible alternatives, educational pathways, sanctuary support, and shopping tips to see that through. It's simply not enough to complain, we must have a legitimate Plan B. AAVS is just that. AAVS is classy, smart, and driven to fulfill all of our dreams of a experiment-free life for all earth's living creatures. For that, they deserve our upmost respect.
With so much focus on animals for food, this organization does the world a great service by educating people about animals in laboratories. The use of non-consenting animals as test subjects has become scientifically unnecessary and outdated. Thank you, AAV!
AAVS cares about animals! I support their efforts and encourage others to do the same!!
AAVS does essential work to seek to end cruel and, in this age of so many better and more effective research methods, unnecessary experimentation on sentient animals. I support them with major donations.
Thank you so much, AAVS, for working to protect animals from use in education, research, testing, and that greatest horror, vivisection. The cruelty that human beings exercise on animals is self-propagating, as cruelty sits in and promotes further indifference to suffering. Thank you so much, AAVS, for bringing cruelty to light and developing ways to stop it. My very small budget allows me to donate only a little money each month, but I am so proud to do it, and carrying the Leaping Bunny membership list with me everywhere, in every purse, enables me to shop responsibly and to educate others about cruelty free shopping and the work of AAVS.
I love and support AAVS because I think they're effective and make a tangible, significant difference in the lives of innocent animals. Plus, Leaping Bunny had such a huge impact on me that I just refuse to buy anything that is not certified.
I'm careful about which orgs I support because I have a very limited income and I want the modest donations I can offer to matter. With AAVS, I'm confident that they will use these funds wisely.
AAVS is great at staying connected to supporters and the public and it's important for me to know about their achievements and the progress they're making towards increasing protections for all animals, as well as abolishing the cruelty and needless suffering of using animals in so-called scientific testing and experiments. I also vehemently oppose using animals in schools for medical training and dissection, especially since AAVS has promoted some excellent alternatives.
I only regret that I can't give much more generously but I intend to continue my support of this worthy, dedicated group at whatever level I can and in every way possible. It's an investment of which I'm proud.
The horror of animal cruelty, especially live animal experimentation, is something I cannot grasp ... that a sentient human being would torture another living being for any reason is criminal. AAVS is on the forefront in the fight against such atrocities.
As a member of the general public I realize I haven't always contribute to animal welfare in my choices of products and purchases I've made throughout my life, that was until I heard of the good people of the American Anti-Vivisection Society. This great organization has helped open my eyes to the ongoing suffering of animals in labs whose daily lives are a cruel nightmare in which all hope can be forgotten. However, through the efforts of this organization I'm sure that just my life was transformed to make better choices in all the products and purchases I now make. The lives of millions of animals still sitting in cages across the country can be save if we all work together with this wonderful organization to end the needless abuse, cruelty and unnecessary torture forced upon such innocent living beings. Let us support and continue to work with this organization plans and efforts to rescue the lives of millions of suffering creatures and once and for all bring this barbaric practice to an end. I'm glad this organization exist to promote awareness and bring hope to such an important cause. God bless!
My story is a lifelong way on the trial to help animals that are abused. The most cruel abuse or one of the cruelst is the vivisection. We do not need cut open animals weather we would have a reason or not. We never are allowed to do so and we never have a reason for.
An animal is a living being which feels as we do. If you'd think you were this animal...helpless and bound with chains and cannot defend yourself while thinking that you would lick the shoe even of your paingiver. Just to have an end of this terror and senseless horror. Look below that's not cut open but this is in cruel the same perhaps before or after. Look at the desparation at the hopeless and the feelings down.. and than pray to Gd to thank Him for being born as a human who has a right and who has a voice...
In my bachelors and later in medical training, I never thought much about the animals that we sacrificed in order to learn. It wasn't until years later, as a pediatrician taking care of little patients that cannot tell us what is wrong, that I have become aware of the horrible sacrifices we have made of the voiceless in the name of medicine.
I remember the days when we used to do spinal taps on infants WITHOUT a local anesthetic. We just held them down. We had just started giving local for circumcisions. I find this appalling and cannot believe I was ever a part of it. I believe that the pain of animals is the same as any living being that cannot tell us to stop, including infants.
I have been heartened to find a non-profit that is dedicated to ending this pain and suffering. It is not justified, nor is it necessary, for medicine to be taught in this way any longer. Thank God the American Anti-Vivisection society is our voice of reason and humanity.
Great non profit organisation really cares and works for the voiceless to stop the evil and torture they suffer
AAVS is low-key but effective, with a clear and focused mission. That is not the case with many non-profits!
AAVS is one of the best organizations looking out for animals well being and stopping the experiments on live animals and getting these poor animals out of these torture laboratories. IT IS TIME TO STOPS LIVE EXPERIMENTS ON ANIMALS. MOST OF WHICH THESE EXPERIMENTS HAVE NOT PRODUCED ANY CURES OR BENEFITED HUMANS.
This is the only organization that to my knowledge is working hard to educate and advocate to put an end to the cruel and unnecessary animal testing.
I carry the AAVS Leaping Bunny list of cruelty-free companies to consult whenever I am considering buying a product. AAVS is the leader in creating change in the way companies test their products, by providing efficient, feasible alternatives, such as virtual science. AAVS aims to eliminate animal testing, especially within the cosmetics industry. Its commitment to keeping animals free and safe is unprecedented. Thank you, AAVS, for your dedication to creating an animal-friendly nation.
Why is AAVS important? Because they are the leading organization bringing awareness and education regarding the use of animals in research, experimentation and - worst of all - cosmetics testing. I carry my Leaping Bunny list with me, and whenever possible purchase only cruelty-free products. Cosmetics testing should be banned, hands down. Unnecessary testing using animals extends to the medical and research realms as well. Many of the same trials are performed repeatedly, getting the same results. So animals are abused and tortured for no reason. And for those who disagree, consider the practical standpoint: millions of dollars - much of it from taxpayers - are wasted on these unnecessary and redundant tests. Either way you look at it, using animals for testing is a lose-lose situation.
The tears return each time I think of Rodney, the trusting dog who befriended duty-bound interns who inflicted him with painful repeated medical procedures in the name of science. I taught science and see no need to inflict this kind of pain on innocent creatures when alternative teaching models exist. I cannot imagine watching the fading trust in Rodney's eyes with each new painful practice procedure. And pigs are smarter than dogs, but they are treated evenly less humanely. Thank goodness there are folks like AAVS who speak up for the small creatures who cannot speak for themselves. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Such a great voice for animals! In this day and age, there is no reason to have animal testing/experimentation. Thank you for being their voice and bringing awareness to their plight.
I contact my D.C. Representatives weekly to stop horse soring, horse roundups, and the permitting of U.S. horses, donkeys, and mules (wild and domestic) to be taken to Canada and Mexico for slaughter.
AAVS brings awareness to the plight of animals that a lot of people have never given thought to. This practice is so horrible and unnecessary. They educate, they advocate , and they provide alternative options. They are the voice of these animals.
I love you guys! Always vigilant and aware of how to help and take action for animals.
You do great work.
Few organizations are more effective on more fronts than AAVS in educating the public and freeing animals from the horrors of vivisection. AAVS is the right organization for the discriminating donor wanting to know for sure that his/her funds are making the biggest impact. I strongly endorse AAVS!
The American Ant-Vivisection Society (AAVS) are the voice for the voiceless Animals. AAVS promotes awareness, educates the public, and stands up to corporate bullies whom are in the business of profit over compassion for all of Earth's creatures - human and non-human. AAVS is never discouraged but "we" anticipate the struggles, and a world with less suffering for the Animals translates to less suffering for all, and that is "our reward". Thank You !!!
I've been an AAVS supporter for many years. Through AAVS my children and grandchildren have learned about protecting animals and respecting animal rights. They have in turn, brought this message to schools with brief presentations of their own. They've spoken to their teachers about "Animalearn" and they even remind their parents (and neighbors!) while shopping to remember to check for products that have the "Leaping Bunny" symbol. Many of us in the family wear clothing that reminds people to acknowledge/respect animal rights and encourages people to ask about what that means. We've all decided to be a voice for the voiceless. All these actions would not have had the impact that they've had if not for AAVS and the information and education they've provided. This organization does all the right things when it comes to "being out there" in their effort to keep our fellow beings safe and happy.
