I have had many people ask me “Why does Folsom need a food bank”. It’s because hunger doesn’t differentiate between how educated you are or where you live. Many people have experienced hard times and don’t know where to turn. For the past 30 years, the Twin Lakes Food Bank has been working to eliminate hunger in our community. Because so many in our community are willing to serve and support the food bank, we are helping to meet those needs on a weekly basis.
The Twin Lakes Food Bank just recently purchased a refrigerated van to not only pick up food from many local retailers, but to deliver fresh food to many of our shut ins. These are people who may not have the means to make it out to the food bank, so the food bank comes to them. It would be awesome if we could eliminate the need for the food bank, but I believe there will always be a need for some support. I thank God for the Twin Lakes Food Bank and those who help to support it.
