My husband decided to take up riding and then wanted a horse. He is quite tall and was a very inexperienced rider at the time. We looked high and low. A TB came up for adoption at Helping Heart. I talked to Lisa about the suitability of a TB for a very inexperienced rider and she said Kole would be perfect. Kole was over 17 hand and very mellow. We went to meet him and he was exactly as Lisa said. A big, sweet puppy dog. They had rescued him from very bad conditions and brought him back to health. He and my husband had a wonderful relationship. Helping Hearts does an amazing job of caring for the animals they rescue and knows them and are very honest about what the animal has been through and what to expect. Kole and Jim had a wonderful relationship.

We had a horse she rescued. He had been starved and she brought him back. He was exactly what she described him to be. I also know she will take any horse back if you can no longer care for it. The care given to the horses is excellent and she treats them with kindness, compassion, and love....as if they are all her own personal horses.

We adopted an OTTB from Helping Hearts. He had been badly neglected and they brought him back to health. The last thing I thought we wanted was a Thoroughbred for my novice rider husband. Lisa assured us he was a husband horse. We checked him out and found him to be perfect; exactly as described. I have followed Lisa and Helping Hearts since then and she has rescued numerous horses and gives them the best of care. Before adopting them out she makes sure what the horse can do and is very clear on any needs of care or handling that it might be. She cares for the horses under her care as if they were her own special horse. The facility is excellent and well maintained.

We adopted a horse from Helping Hearts. Everything they told us about him, temperament, training, etc was spot on. They are committed to the best care for the rescue horses in their care and finding them good homes. If the homes don't work out then the horses still have a home at Helping Hearts. Lisa Post is an amazing person in her care and understanding of horses.
