Review for East Palo Alto Kids Foundation, Palo Alto, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

EPAK delivers on a very simple, yet effective concept of granting funds to teachers in the Ravenswood School District. These small grants go toward everyday items needed in their classrooms - books in a range of reading levels, calculators, notebooks, poster boards, etc. Basic school supplies - that are plentiful in most school districts - are not a given in E. Palo Alto and E. Menlo and EPAK fills that gap. EPAK grants have funded field trips that are often first-time experiences for many of these students.

Although I don't regret the time spent raising PTA funds for the well-supported schools that my kids attend , it is very gratifying to have found EPAK where the impact of my donations can make a clear difference. EPAK = Impact

Review for PALO ALTO PARTNERS IN EDUCATION, Palo Alto, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

PiE funds items in the schools that all kids need and helps make sure all children get access to important programs. Arts and music education, counselors, electives, extra help with school work from aides in the classroom, social and emotional programs. I am a donor and my kids have been recipients of many of the programs funded by PiE. Its simply a reality that tax dollars no longer fund many of the important parts of a well rounded education, especially in California. PiE really fills the gaps and benefits all children across the socio economic spectrum.

Review for Program For Early Parent Support, Seattle, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

PEPS is part of the fabric of Seattle and has been instrumental in the lives of countless families and children. Regardless of background or circumstance, expecting parents can get all starry eyed in the fairy tale anticipation of their adorable new baby to be. Oftentimes that leaves us unprepared for the less dreamy realities of sleepless nights, collicky infants, challenges with breastfeeding - just to name a few. New parents can feel isolated and think they are the only one having these issues. It's nice when well meaning friends and relatives tell you they experienced these challenges and it got better. It's amazing to be in the trenches and experiencing the challenges and SUPPORT from your peers as you navigate new parenthood. PEPS provides that non-judgmental peer support exactly when you need it. And the babies and children and families really benefit.
