Mission: PiE raises money from parents and the community to provide all Palo Alto Unified School District students an educational experience beyond what is possible with public funding.
Target demographics: Enrich the education of every student in Palo Alto Unified School District schools
Direct beneficiaries per year: 12,200 students by partially or fully funding more than 250 additional staff members who provide over 85,000 hours of instruction and support
Geographic areas served: Palo Alto, CA
Programs: Palo Alto Partners in Education (PiE) is the only non-profit educational foundation devoted exclusively to raising money for all Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) schools, and the only foundation dedicated to raising funds to pay for PAUSD teachers and staff.
We work with parents, the school district, and the community to provide all students an enhanced educational experience. PiE is the district’s essential partner in providing support and enrichment opportunities that help every child receive a well-rounded, fulfilling education from PAUSD. We distribute funds on an equal per-pupil basis at each school level throughout the district.
PiE funds items in the schools that all kids need and helps make sure all children get access to important programs. Arts and music education, counselors, electives, extra help with school work from aides in the classroom, social and emotional programs. I am a donor and my kids have been recipients of many of the programs funded by PiE. Its simply a reality that tax dollars no longer fund many of the important parts of a well rounded education, especially in California. PiE really fills the gaps and benefits all children across the socio economic spectrum.
Palo Alto partners in Education (PIE) is a wonderful non profit organization. Abe Farag has been a leadership donor of PIE for the last several years. They provide funds to pay for extra classroom support staff in palo alto schools.
