As a Marine Corps Veteran dealing with unemployment and mental health issues my family was on a little rough path economically. We where referred to this great organization first for assistance with food and some winter coats. They welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we where not in need at all, but it was more or less okay to take what we needed, in fact that was Mrs. Laurie's words when it came to the coats "take what you need". We felt very comfortable and we where the ones being appreciated for coming to get the help, they kept saying "this is what we are here for" it was our first time getting assistance like this because of the fear of being shamed or looked down upon, none of that was present NONE at all! A few days after we left I got a text asking if we received all of the coats we needed and if we needed anything else. So at the time we needed a new twin mattress, and after feeling so comfortable our first visit, we asked if they had one. They replied back that they did not have a mattress at the time but that they would put us on a list and if one came available they would contact us. Well, they kept their word and contacted us with not only a twin mattress and box spring in almost new condition but a dresser, mirror and a bunk bed that just they morning before getting their text we where standing in our kitchen talking about our need for a bunk bed now that our grandchildren had moved in with us. This organization has been a God sent organization in our lives we are greatful for their generosity and support they have given to our family. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!
