Review for Missouri Botanical Garden, St. Louis, MO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Missouri Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite places to visit. The beautiful Japanese Garden, the English Woodland Garden, and the Tropical Climatron are just the beginning of the wonders available for exploration. In additon, there are the Japanese Festival, a tremendous weekend-long celebration, the Chinese Culture Days, the Orchid Show, the Holiday Train show, the Children's Garden and other special annual events that add so much value to the Gardens.
As one of the largest Botanical Gardens in the World, MoBot is a true treasure that deserves more recognition. They are actively involved in research and conservation worldwide as well. If you have never seen it, make sure it is on your itenerary when you come to Saint Louis.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My day to day life, as a wonderful place to spend time, and as a place to take classes and learn many different subjects.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage them to focus more on native plants.

Role:  General Member of the Public & I visited and have helped as a volunteer teacher.

Review for Center for Biological Diversity Inc, Tucson, AZ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I admire their tirelessness in pursuing meaningful protection for our wild lands and animal and plant life. I also think they have been especially effective in gaining protection, winning important court battles and educating the public about new and important issues in conservation and wildlife protection.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the empowerment and voice they offer to the public.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that they give me an easy way to speak with lawmakers and other authorities and executives. They also bring news stories I had not heard of to my attention and do a lot of the tedious but important work for the good of all of us.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind, thoughtful and optimistic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

effectively improve things for many of the important issues facing the environment today, from mountaintop removal coal mining to excessive offshore oil drilling. I see that they are quite effective even when it comes to tough issues.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  General Member of the Public & I supported the Center's efforts through writing lawmakers and signing petitions.
