Review for Fairfax Releaf, Fairfax, VA, USA
Fairfax ReLeaf offered our 3rd-6th grade students a rare chance to impact their environment and actively participate in community service. We heard of Fairfax ReLeaf through a nearby middle school which has planted over 2,000 trees with them. Fairfax ReLeaf was extremely easy to work with. Ms. Beach brought a conservationist and school grounds supervisor to our school to select an appropriate site for planting, and on the event day, provided 18 free tree saplings, along with all of the tools necessary to clear, dig, plant, and secure them. She taught the students, and all we had to do was provide workers and water! It was a great experience, and we hope to make it an annual project. I would highly recommend this organization! More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing the trees our students planted.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
create a document outlining policies and prodecures for implementing a project, and provide access to such information on their web site
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
their energy, enthusiasm, and up-beat attitude; and their mission to provide free education, trees and the tools needed to improve our community.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
informed, sincere, and hard-working.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
reach out to government organizations, shopping centers, town planners, school districts, residential developers, and at-risk youth organizations to launch ReLeaf "branches" (pun intended) across the country
Ways to make it better...
we had planned how to get water to the site a bit earlier.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
publicity and maintaining a stable business foundation to help it grow
One thing I'd also say is that...
this is a tremendous organization that deserves public and private support.
