Silicon Andhra is a non-profit organization that promotes traditional, cultural and literary values and aspects of the Telugu diaspora - the Telugu-speaking Andhra people are spread all across the world. By some estimates, the language is spoken or understood by almost 120 million people in the world.
Ever since its inception over 14 years ago, Silicon Andhra has undertaken a zealous mission to preserve, propagate and enrich the rich cultural heritage of Telugu people. Some of their most significant and high-impact endeavors are: promoting the native Kuchipudi Dance art form into Andhra Pradesh so much so, it has today been ingrained into the public psyche; ditto, about a fifteenth century music composer Annamacharya - Silicon Andhra's efforts in etching the saint-composer's copious contributions in public memory are laudable; their school (Mana Badi , or Our School) started by Silicon Andhra has now grown into a Global phenomenon, spreading into 38 countries and 5500 students, imparting a very structured, sequential learning regimen to students learning Telugu language and all its nuances. These are, but a few of their many achievements.
I think Silicon Andhra's contributions are far too many to enumerate, their impact far too great to quantify and their longevity far too important to ignore. Silicon Andhra, as an organization and a traditional familial group of volunteers with imbibed core values has already stood the test of time and will definitely deliver on its many 'unreal' and 'improbable' promises for years to come.
