Review for Lions Project For Canine Companions (LPCC), Santa Rosa, CA, USA
I am proud to be a recipient of Successor Service Dog "Writer" AND a trustee for the Lions Project for Canine Companions for Independence.
I became a Lion years ago and could not have foreseen how much of an impact the Lions Project for CCI would have on my life. I have been proud to do presentations about the Lions Club all over the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
I was a nurse, horseback rider, artist and musician years ago before my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Subsequently, I lost my ability to be involved with any of the aforementioned. Had it not been for Canine Companions for Independence, I would have plummeted into an abyss of depression and hopelessness. With the help of my assistance dog and my partnership with the Lions, I was able to redefine my life and become an independent member of society. I now volunteer for nine organizations including the Lions Project for Canine Companions for Independence. As Gandhi said, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others".
