At a recent event, I met a mother/daughter with their graduate Lab. It seems that prior to getting the dog, her daughter was known as "The kid in the wheelchair and had no friends in 2nd grade" Now with her companion, she is the most popular kid in school.

There's no way that words alone can tell the story of LPCCI and its support for CCI. One needs to see the dogs as they fulfill their destiny of serving their partner in one of the four capacities they're trained for. Lions began their support for CCI shortly after its inception and built LPCCI as a foundation in 1983. As we come to the 35th year of LPCCI's existence donations to CCI have reached $3.5 million. I'm extremely proud of my association with the Lions Project For Canine Companions For Independence.

Having been with Lions for 40 years and LPCCI for 20 or so of those years, I can say I have never worked with a finer organization or one focused solely on helping CCI and the good things they provide for so many. Volunteering for LPCCI brings me great joy and a strong sense of helping those in our community that can well use the help our dogs provide them.

Have witnessed first hand individuals benefitting from these amazing animals. This is an incredible program. These animals are bred, raised and trained free of charge to the recipients.

Great example of one organization helping another. Lions support for CCI is unwavering. What better way to help people than providing fully trained service dogs!

A great charity helping raise funds for those in need of service dogs. The work they do in raising funds and helping provide service dogs to those in need is amazing.

LPCCI has donated millions to Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that provides amazing service dogs to people with disabilities. I have seen first hand the difference these dogs make in allowing disabled people to lead full, satisfying and independent lives. CCI provides dogs free of charge to people who need them and relies totally on donations to empower these people.

It is amazing that this volunteer organization of committed individuals and groups has raised over $3 million for Canine CompAnions for Independence as well as publicly promote the CCI organization. Thank you.

This is an awesome project that supports an awesome organization. The Lions Project helps raise funds for Canine Companions for Independence that provides service dogs to children, adults and Veterans with disabilities, completely free of charge! I ran across Canine Companions For Independence by accident at a dog training facility in York Maine.
After going to Many Graduations and meeting both Service Dog Teams and future Clients , I was hooked.
Its TRUELY an organization about People helping People with no strings attached and its ALL FREE OF CHARGE....Amazing.
Simply TRUE, that one person CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!!

LPCCI does a wonderful job of spreading the word of these amazing service dogs. Yes, we talk to Lions Clubs around the country, but we also speak to other organizations, churches, schools, etc. The reason is simply to tell everyone about this wonderful organization and to bear witness to how individuals, both children and adults, benefit from having a service dog. My husband and I have known several people whose lives were turned around because of being teamed with CCI dogs. Their lives went from despair to living again, to having a purpose and helping society. We heard a young man call his CCI dog "his hero" because he now has the will to finish school despite his handicap. Talk to anyone with a CCI dog and I dare you not to get emotional when you witness the delight in their eyes how much they've changed!

This organization is directly involved with CCI. Set up to raise funds for all of the costs that are involved in training and placing these dogs with individuals. Veterans Initiative to support so many of our soldiers who have lost limbs. The least we owe them! The 2 facilities I've visited in CA & FL are very professionally run. The staff are phenomenal! Having done my homework, I'm able to speak with no reservations on the mission statement of LPCCI. As a Lion, I'm able to promote as well. What a blessing to know an honorable charity exists with dogs to help people such as our vets and all the others who really need them.

I became the Administrator for LPCCI in 2013 leaving a 12 year career at a Fortune 500 Company. I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid of the change and switch to the nonprofit world. Becoming apart of the LPCCI family was a life changing experience for me! I work with so many generous individuals that voluntarily devote many hours of their day to create awareness and provide support for the last 32 years to Canine Companions for Independence. Whether it is raising an adorable puppy for up to 18 months or being a breeder caretaker or just making presentations at their local Lions Clubs, LPCCI Area Directors and Trustees are some of the most generous, kindhearted volunteers you will ever meet. LPCCI does amazing work by supporting Canine Companions for Independence with raising over $3 million dollars, I am so excited to see what the future holds for us. As many Lions say....WE SERVE!

The Organization could be much more supportive and work more closely with Canine Companions For Independence to educate and make aware the great works that is done!
