We've adopted 3 Siberian Huskies from Hairy Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue over the years. We keep going back to them when it's time for us to adopt another dog because of their passion to rescue, save and protect these beautiful animals from human cruelty. Their only motivation is their deep love of the breed. They value all animals but their hearts belong to the husky. Currently this is one of the most over-bred discarded dogs on the planet. They're showing up in animal shelters and pounds and surrendered faster than anyone can save them. But HHSHR does the best job of pulling these dogs quickly moving them to safety in one of the homes of their amazing, experienced Foster Families. Where they are evaluated for temperament, vetted and treated, and shown deep care and love, many for the first time in their lives. This is a highly sensitive, social and often stubborn breed so caring for them is not always easy. But with time and consistent care they can be taught that life is good and they can relax and heal and become the dog they were created to be. HHSHR does the most remarkable job of giving every dog they rescue the very best chance for survival and to thrive under the care and support they receive from this fabulous group. They do all this on a shoe string budget through the devotion and commitment of each of its wonderful volunteers. Without none of this would be possible. The only reward that Cherie and the volunteers receive for their dedication and hard work is the heartfelt joy of knowing they did the very best they could for each and every husky. That in itself is enough for these selfless folks. That's why my family donates to them whenever possible and keeps choosing to adopt our dogs from HHSHR. We love them!
