Review for Natures Nursery Center For Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation, Whitehouse, OH, USA
Nature's Nursery is the place in Northwest OH to contact for wild animal care and rehab. I became hooked on foster parenting wild babies a few years ago when I found a young squirrel and didn't know how to care for it. I had heard about Nature's Nursery before but had never needed them. There is nothing like finding an injured or orphaned creature and not knowing what to do for it. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Laura Z., her staff and the army of selfless volunteers. This is not a job for them, but a heartfelt vocation into which they pour their hearts and souls; in addition, they have to take on the backbreaking physical demands of caring for the non-releasable, permanent resident, program animals. The staff is on call constantly, manning phone calls from the public and making arrangements for animal pickup and care. Nature's Nursery provides a variety of wonderful education programs for children and adults. This is only a sampling of what Nature's Nursery has to offer the public. So much more than what I have listed is what is required for Nature's Nursery to run as fluidly as it does. It offers unique, one-of-a-kind, much needed services to human and animal residents of Northwest Ohio. Nature's Nursery does so much with so little. Again, the people who work or volunteer for Nature's Nursery are the heart of the organization. I share a common bond of love of animals with these people and when I am there or volunteering for Nature's Nursery, I am home.
