Review for The Pain Community (a DBA of Women With Pain Coalition), Alamo, CA, USA
I found the support calls that The Pain Community offer weekly several years ago. It allowed me to get support & to give support. It gave me the chance to talk to other people living with pain who know what I live with daily. I don't get to join the support calls as often as I would like to --- however, I know that every Tuesday evening, come rain, shine, or pain that support call is there for me and others.

The Pain Community cares for not just the person living with pain, they also care about and include the caregivers.
They understand that even though the caregiver may not live with pain, they are very much affected by it. You see pain is not selective, it doesn't care, who you are or where you are. It doesn't care if you have a family or don't have a family or if you want to have a family.
It doesn't care if you are a single parent or a two parent household where both must work in order for the family to financially be okay. Pain doesn't care if you are young or old. It is a vicious monster that robs normalcy from the person living with the pain, the caregiver and the families. It takes from all and keeps taking and taking and taking.
The Pain Community understands every one of these things. They understand because many of the volunteers are people who live with pain themselves. They are fighting the same fight that everyone else who lives with pain is fighting. They get it and because of that, they treat everyone with compassion, understanding and empathy.

I am a caregiver to my soul mate who lives with chronic pain. We have been on this bumpy road for over 20 years. I have seen her through the good and the bad. The Pain Community has allowed her to blossom. It gives her a safe, secure place to connect with others who live with pain. She needed The Pain Community and they have never failed her.
