I recently adopted a Quarter Horse mare from Serenity. I visited the facility twice, and both times I found it very clean, safe and welcoming. The horses were all well kept. They were clean, hooves in good condition, well fed and content. There was never a promise of performance out of my mare, she was not "marketed" to me as anything but a rescue from a situation of neglect and abuse. In fact, the trainer followed up with me several times to discuss how to proceed with the mare once she left Serenity. I found Patricia to be kind, compassionate and extremely passionate about the care and placement of the horses. It is clearly her intent to find forever homes for these animals and she does not care (nor should she) if she happens to hurt someone's feelings. Her goal is to find good, qualified, caring homes for the horses. I would recommend adopting from Serenity in a heart-beat! The volunteers are all so wonderful and you can really tell that everyone there loves horses.
